Outstanding shoe
I have worn Ariels for years. They are the only shoe design that I can walk in for miles right out of the box. I've read some complaints about newer editions of the Ariel shoe, but I have never had a problem with them. They are absolutely worth the money. If my ankles and knees start to hurt again, I know it is time for a new pair, but I get at least a half year out of a pair. I'm trying to stave off joint surgery, and these shoes make it possible.

Excellent for Problem Feet
I have plantar facitis and low arches. This is my second pair of Brooks "Ariel" and I would highly recommend this shoe. I am not a runner but a walker. I usually wear an 8 wide but I need an 8.5 wide in Brooks athletic shoes. They fit perfect right out of the box. I had no break in time. They are well padded and comfortable, yet light weight. I am disappointed in one thing, the "Ariel" is difficult to find. I believe that is because it has been replaced with another "Ariel" model. I just hope this one meets the same standards as the old one, because it is the best shoe on the market for my particular issues.

good stability shoe
I purchased these shoes at the recommendation of my foot doctor after getting custom made orthotics. The shoe is deeper (higher on the sides) than most and this helps the orthotic to fit in the shoe without leaving me feeling like my foot is going to come out of the shoe. Also, the shoe is high stability is a good for overpronators. I suffer from plantar fascitis and need a very stable shoe with good support and I am very happy with this shoe. In the past, I have worn Adrenaline GTS's, but tried this model due to the extra depth provided.
