I swing a heavier bat myself. I bought this 28 oz for some others on my team. They all really like the feel of this bat. Once these bats get broken in, they are very good in performance and dependability. It has a great sound when you connect with a solid hit. I like the fact that it is a US made product.

I took the plunge and bought the bat while it was on clearance, and I'm glad I did! It's a great bat...good pop on the ball, and it's well made. Sound purchase!

This bat does by no means have the pop that the reviews have shown, in fact its pretty much dead out of the wrapper. Also the finish on the bat scratches and dings terribly. However, it is very well balanced and swings great, I got a 27 oz and wish I had a 28 or 29 because it feels like its lighter than it really is. Hopefully once its broken in it will get a little more pop. That is yet to be seen.

I was the last post. My bat has a small crack in the middle of my barrel. From talking to teamates small cracks usually do happen. My bat is balanced 27 oz. I have only had one no 0 for game. Every other game have had a minimum of 2 hits. Ball still jumping off bat if you get a good piece. Don't know if its me just getting used to a softball swing vs. A baseball swing but I'm hitting ten times better than last year and every swing has been with this bat

Rated 3 out of 5 by DMFD great look great pop our of wrapper, knock off miken
My best friend and I play on the same ASA softball team. I can't drop bombs so i purchased the 27oz balanced. MY buddy big time homerun hitter so he got the 28oz supermaxed. This was the first bat I ever purchased for softball and after a long year last year not liking any of the bats on my team i decided to invest in a new bat this year. Knowing mikens are top of the line softball bats and this yaers freak nxt was the most balanced i had swung at any retail store i decided this would be a good purchase.
Out of the wrapper it was hot as advertised so i was excited about the tournament i was about to play in the following weekend, figuring after it was all over the bat would have been broken in and ready for a long summer of stinging line drives all over the yard. Tournament came and my best friend hit before me, fisrt swing, towering shot over ther fence, super stoked only to pick up the bat and find that it had cracked on hist first swing. My balanced version made it trhough the tourny with no cracks but in my following league game that week i found a nice crack smack dab in the middle of the barrell.
After doing some research, found this bat is not on mikens website at all and is only sold at dicks. so in my head im thinking its a knock off version of the good mikens we all have come to know and love and for 200 bones i would hope it would at least last the season.
Great looking bat, great pop out of wrapper, but will not last long at all... i mean we had two crack within a week of eachother, not looking forward to the month or two proces its gonna take to get my replacement bat back considerings half the season will be over by then
