Crosman Vantage Pellet Gun 4.7 5 18 18
The Best Pellet Gun Yet. Reading the reviews, figured i should try this gun. Had a problem with rabbits in the garden. And i said HAD, No more. This pellet gun is by far the best i have ever owned, and i have had a few. Took about 15 shots to zero in the iron sights with Crosman pointed .177 cal 4.5mm pellets. And that's just the iron site. I really have not needed the scope. First shots were true at 35 yards. Five to be exact. Not a big rabbit shooter, but living next to a big park doesn't help. I don't think you can go wrong with this gun folks. I know it's the best one i have owned. September 14, 2014
Very nice pellet rifle We had a squirrel getting on our bird feeders so I had been using a Crosman 66 PowerMaster and the stock broke from the receiver so I started looking for a rifle with a wood stock. I saw this online so I ordered it from Dick's. When I opened the box I was surprised at how sturdy and nice looking it is. So after target shooting with it a few days the squirrel showed up at the bird feeder. I hit it with the first shot but it kept running but I could see blood streaming down its side and I shot at it until my pellet pen ran out of pellets. But I haven't seen it since. August 31, 2014
very nice wonderful rifle. easy to operate, and mount scope. accurate and fun to shoot i'm thinking of buying another one for my grandsons August 23, 2014
Very Impressed I had been shopping for a pellet gun for sometime now. I was having a lot of problems also. Just like the guy who wrote a review that was an officer. I have had experience with a pellet/BB rifle combo when I was younger. I have a woods also behind my house and was having problems with squirrels coming in and tearing up the bird feeders. I went automatically to using the cite that came with the gun. Have to say I have never cited a rifle in before and the experience was very good. Now if the squirrels see me pulling out my pellet rifle they run and it's sometimes days before I see any at all. The rifle is very powerful and I am very satisfied with my choice. May 23, 2014
Outstanding squirrel hunting rifle OK, I read all the other reviews, and despite some of the negative comments I bought it anyway because the squirrels in our area became over populated and destructive (and Dick's had the best price). Here is my disclaimer, I am not a hunter and never killed an animal in my life (except running one or two over with my car) and am basically from a large city, but these rodents were making me mad to say the least; we went from seeing none when we moved in to about 7 or 8 playing havoc in the neighborhood.I am a former cop, so I do have considerable firearms experience, just not pellet guns.I borrowed a friend's pellet rifle and shot about 100 pellets and barely hit one and when I did, they jumped and ran, but came back - no worse for the wear.I did my research but didn't want to spend a fortune on a pellet gun and settled on this one.First, I did what another reviewer did, took it in my partially finished basement and tried to site it in without the scope. The power, especially compared to the one I borrowed, was amazing. Across a large basement the pellet went through a cardboard box with the target on it, three rubber matts and into the concrete wall, which I too will be patching and painting.Sadly my first couple shots at the squirrels missed, so out of frustration I put on the scope (which a lot of people complained about) and sighted it in from my upstairs bedroom window to the bird feeder area the squirrels liked to congregate and eat (and rip apart the feeders). I was shooting at an 8" circle target and hit the center consistently once I made the adjustments. The next morning the squirrels started to come by and one by one I hit them, a couple ran for several feet and they succumbed to their injuries. Two made the mistake of going up the tree to which I shot both out, dead before they hit the ground. It looked like a killing field.I have woods in the back of my house and the hawks, foxes and coyotes had a squirrel feast. This rifle proved powerful and accurate. I would highly recommend it. Great gun Very accurate and sturdy, feels like a real hunting riffle. February 18, 2014
BEST pelet rifle by far this is now number 14 of my collection and out of all my guns this would be in the top 3 or if I could put two number one's this would be it, ok to start I like everything about this, i'v herd people don't like the trigger ? trigger works great and can be adjusted but myn was perfect right out of the box, and as far as the scope its okay I plain to put a bigger or stronger should I say because of the distance this rifle will shoot, and I dono what people are saying that it was hard to put the scope on? it only go's on one way line the set pin up in the rear hole in the barrel and the rest is basic, does it sound like a 22 ? no but it does have a lot of power so be ready for that kick back.this is no toy and shouldn't be left in reach of a child or shot around kids, I RECOMMEND THS 100% A TRUELY GREAT AIR RIFLE... quality gun at its finest It is real wood not to heavy and a quality scope/rifle. The only down side is putting on the scope January 5, 2014
Got The Squirrel So, I was starting to feel like Bill Murray from Caddyshack. I had two squirrels constantly on my bird feeder. I would shoot at them with a small Daisy BB gun to no avail. Even if I hit them, they would come right back. So I got mad and bought this pellet gun. I bought the lead free high velocity pellets as well. When I took it out of the box, the weight surprised me. It is well balanced, and has enough weight to help steady your aim. I was going to put the scope on it, but the squirrel was mocking me. The iron sights looked good so I thought I would try a shot with the irons. I loaded one of the high velocity rounds and took a shot at the squirrel. The first pellet out of the gun went straight through the squirrels head. I was surprised to say the least. I had not even zeroed the gun. The sights were right on. I decided to keep the scope off for the time being. The gun sounds almost as loud as a .22, and has a light recoil. Great pellet rifle. December 5, 2013
Good but heavy It is a decent airgun. However, it is really heavy. You also need strength to pump it. But otherwise, how can you get the high velocity? That's two sides of one product. July 16, 2013
