I bought this Oct. 2012. I have had nothing but issues When I tried to decrease the speed, it wouldn't do it for approximately a 1.5 minutes, then if I decreased the speed again it would take at least another 1.5 minutes and for each time i pressed any button it would take at least that long to adjust and sometimes longer. I tried to use the Adjustable Console, Tried the touch screen. Basically tried all the buttons available to slow it down, nothing worked. The worst part is the EMERGENCY KEY what a joke....When I pulled the key out, It wouldn't stop over a minute later it finally stopped. I am not sure why this product is so expensive when its only been a headache for me. This stalled frozen issue has happened at least 7 times. I thought this would be perfect to run on everyday. What a waste of money. And the belt squeaks too. I emailed epic customer service twice finally got a response saying I have to call them. why email? There are much better Treadmills like Life Fitness, Don't get stuck with a worthless treadmill like I did.

Despite following all the directions, step-by-step in the user manual, this treadmill does not operate correctly. It forgets the user ID settings every time you turn it off, it does not operate at all in manual mode (the console counts down time, but the belt never moves, and the console freezes so you have to turn it off to end the routine,) and I won't even go into the complete disaster that is the iFit website we just paid a $99 membership for. Before you buy into iFit, I strongly recommend you go to their website and read the craziness in their support forums - apparently they tried to upgrade their website and it has destroyed their system. Lots of irate customers (count me among them.# Back to the A42T: My wife tried to use one of the vaunted Google running maps and it froze half-way through and she was NOT ABLE TO STOP THE BELT OR CHANGE THE INCLINE even by pulling out the safety key. That was when we discovered that the safety key doesn't do anything. #And no, before you ask, we had checked the equipment setting to see if the key had been disabled and the software won't even let you look, it just says "The safety key cannot be disabled on this machine.") Customer email support today was condescending and dismissive, and despite the fact the company says its help line hours are M-F 6am-7pm MT, they were not available today at 6:20 MT when I called. This is the most expensive treadmill Dick's sells. Too bad it sucks and the company has poor service to boot.
