Rated 3 out of 5 by Cuda Good Enough for the price Solid construction and does its job. The outer layer has some plastic faux plastic design glued to the case. It was bubbling, even in the store, and all the others were as well. For its price i don't really mind. April 29, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by DeltaMike Not adequate for airline travel I bought this gun case a few weeks ago and had it shipped to my brother's house in NY because I was going to be flying there and returning to MN with a shotgun I inherited from my father. When I arrived in NY and saw the case and handled it I was very impressed with it. I liked the fact that it seemed very well built with several layers of foam for protection. It also has wheels so that it can easily be transported through the terminal. This is a plus because it does weigh about 28 pounds when carrying a single shotgun. One issue I had up front is that even though it has multiple latch locks, they don't seem very secure so I purchased a couple of additional locks to give me more peace of mind that it couldn't be tampered with. The big problem that I had with the case is that it arrived in MN damaged with a significant hole punched into the side (most likely from the wheel or foot of another piece of luggage). While the shotgun wasn't damaged, the inner foam layer was exposed. When looking closely at the damage I noted that the panels of the case are constructed of a thick cardboard material and covered by a thin layer of plastic. Because of this the panels are the weakest part of this gun case and for me means that the security provided by this case is extremely low as I think that someone could easily bypass the lock systems in place and gain access to the contents by going through the panels. While I think that the gun case is more than adequate for protecting firearms that never leave your possession while transporting them (hence a rating of 2), for airline travel, I would never use this case again. I returned it to the store for a refund. August 31, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Jc Think twice Bought this gun case and tried to lock it with very little success. The tumbler stuck in lock position and took 39 min to fix. Kind of dumb not being able to lock a gun case August 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Leman Field The field and stream double long gun traveling case is real winner! I had just bought my second long gun and needed something that could carry two with locking capabilities. Imagine my surprise when the case not only came with key operated locking latches, but also had rivet mounted brackets at each latch for padlocks! Add all of this with traveling wheels and spring loaded handles, and you have an affordable, reliable traveling case for your long guns with scopes. I didn't pull them all out, but I counted at least 3 layers of foam and egg carton-style foam to keep your optics intact and operational during any baggage-handling scenario. Whether heading to the airport for a flight, or out for a day of fun at the range, the case works perfect. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a perfect score are the keys. They are cheaply made and the locking mechanisms can be manipulated rather easily with a file or the right flathead screwdriver. But for the price, it's a wonderful case indeed. Just be sure to padlock it and insure its contents before travel! March 30, 2013
