Nicely spec'd bike for the price Aluminum parts, a decent air fork, good shifters and hydraulic brakes make this quite a substantial upgrade over the base model. This is probably the lowest component specs that I would recommend for anyone who does actual mountain biking aside form just riding on fire trails. The air fork when properly set up will dampen rough terrain unlike the cheapo Suntour pogo stick forks which IMO are actually more dangerous than a rigid fork. I have some minor complaints with the bike but nothing that should dissuade you from purchasing it. The brakes howl like a banshee when wet but still bring you to a stop. Modulation is good and brake fade doesn't seem to be a big issue. The peddles should be replaced as they offer little traction when wet and serve as a calf/shin grater under wet conditions. Otherwise this a solid beginner 29er. November 13, 2012
Nice Complete 29"er hardtail this is a nice entry level 29"er with an entry level, yet very solid component spec offered. It's nice to see Nishiki offering nice products back in the biking world..atleast here in the states November 10, 2012
