2013 Sun Mountain pull cart bag 2013 cart bag has all the right pockets for shoes tees balls keys wallet etc. keeps Clubs separated nicely, works well with my 10 year old Sun Mountain 3 wheel push pull cart. May 2, 2013
As advertised This bag is the one you want for riding in a golf cart (or using a pull cart). The tiered approach to club placement is a very nice feature that doesn't require you to constantly look under your driver and woods (and their woefully oversized headcovers) to pick out an iron. The putter well is great and it easily fits my oversized putter grip. - The side pockets are great that they face the front more so to allow easy access the the side pockets to pull out a towel or some stowed rain gear easily without unstrapping the bag and turning it. My only minor gripe (OK so this may be a major gripe for others) is the side pockets are a little too snug on my 9 can "soda" cooler. I'm a little worried that the side pocket zipper might break due to the stress from the cooler when trying to open it after every other hole. BTW, can somebody make a quality "soda" cooler that fits nicely in a side pocket that last more than one season...OK, I'm done ranting. - If I could have the ear of the designers for a moment, I would definitely like to see one thing more thought out for future bag designs (and this goes for all manufacturers), can you make pockets for predetermined uses. For example; one pocket just for tees, one pocket for ball markers, divot tools, weighted donut, etc., one pocket just for cash money (for betting and the cart girl or snack shop), one pocket just for golf balls, one pocket for car keys, one waterproof pocket for GPS/phone storage, one pocket for sunglasses, and finally, one small pocket for gloves. I know this seems like a lot of pockets but they can be quite small and overlap, but really would make life easier than constantly muddling through a single pocket full of tees, ball markers, loose change, divot tool ,etc. You get the picture. - Back to the bag, overall, I think it is an excellent bag that is well-made and should surely last me quite a while. Although the bag is a little pricey, considering I will probably be using it for the next 10+ years (unless my ideal "soda" holder - multiple pocket bag described above is developed for sale), the price is well worth the features. Great for MID SIZE GRIPS! Solid built. I have been searching for a light cart bag (I use a push cart 75% of the time), with a nice sized cooler, and good storage options that doesn't struggle with MID SIZE Grips. I went through forums and narrowed it down. But, I had to go and look through them all to get a decent idea of how well each would suit my needs. I almost went with the Catalina. It doesn't have 14 full length dividers for the clubs. My Nike M9 cart bag was great but the full length dividers actually created a problem. The nylon material seemed to get caught or bunched up when removing/replacing my mid size gripped clubs. It was terribly annoying. But, I am happy to report that I have loaded the C-130 on my cart (tipped# and the clubs slide in and out freely. May get a hang-up once in awhile but doubt it. Not a dig on the M9 bag at all. It's a great bag. But, for MID SIZE Grips it was frustrating. I don't know if it is material, sizing, or placement. Maybe a combination of all of these. But this is a sweet bag. I prefer subdued asthetics. But, I went with the Shadow/with Red Piping. Sets the bag off a bit which should make it easier to spot in a crouded outing. And it looks great with my red #sale item) Bag Boy Push Cart. Very excited for this next season! A little pricey. If it holds up as well as I think it will, I will come back and give it a 5. NEW BAG MAKES ME PLAY BETTER My wife gave this bag to me for our 40th anniversary. The first week I used it I was extremely impressed. Pockets galor and room for my clubs. The craftmanship was outstanding. I have always carried a Calaway bag, but I was blown away bt the Sun-Mountain bag. I would recommend it to anyone. November 30, 2012
