great price ,on sale.. I picked this up after wanting to put my own combo together.i saw it on sale for 60 beans. And couldnt resist . It has real good looks being almost all white ,it stands out from the normal black rods .i got the 7 footer for river fishin . Rod quality is real nice ,the reel is a better quality than i thought.6 bearings aint too shaby .i have used it for roughly 30 hrs of fishing and not 1 problem ..besides my own faults .overall its a nice setup if your not a pickey wannabe bassmaster. 80 bucks no way ,60 $ go get one . It beats the 1 bearing shakers out there ! May 3, 2013
horrible rod First day using my new rod after 5 casts the bail screw fell out and on the 4th or 5th fish I reel in a 14" bass and the rod split where the 4th eye is located I liked the rod casted far and smooth but for the rod to break I am very disapointed April 28, 2013
BEST ROD/REEL EVER! I got the 6,6 one and took it out trout fishing and destroyed with this thing... It by far works better then other rod/reel I have ever used or any of my buddy's have used... Ultra smooth! Casts beautifully.. Overall GREAT BUY! April 20, 2013
Poor quality Good looks but terrible condition. Within 10 casts of this rod two screws fell out in different places of the reel. I like the rod for bass fishing but the reel is terrible. I had to take the rod back and got a pfleuger :) April 11, 2013

Poor quality When I first used the rod I was initially pleased with the casting and reeling action, until about an hour later when a screw that holds the reel together fell off and dropped into the water during a cast. I would expect a combo of this price to last longer than about an hour of fishing on its first day of use... April 1, 2013
nice little rod real combo. Well I was really happy about getting this reel last night and I could not wait to use it. the next day I was going for crappie and bluegill using a little tiny crappie jig when all of the sudden I see a bass come after it. The rod was firm enough that I could set the hook and I landed it. it was 2 pounds, everything worked great the drag was smooth and it felt great fighting the fish, but later when i went to another lake it just stopped working. I loved the reel until it broke and i'am hoping to get a replacement tomorrow. March 14, 2013
This product was worth the buy. This Quantum Octane combo was great, the Medium action of the rod not (med-heavy) "to who ever commented on that" was outstanding just enough backbone to really set the hook but also enough play to get some long casts in. The reel was smooth with a nice working bail, very tight spinning reel I love it. March 10, 2013
Quantum Octane Combo For 79.99 this combo is horrible . The reel is okay but the rod is really flimsy for a med heavy . Small eyelits and weak construction , med heavy is meant for bigger fish . This pole bends over on a trout . Not worth the money at all . December 23, 2012
