The Garmin® Approach S1 is unlike any other golf GPS. Just what I wanted!
I love the new Garmin Approach S1 GPS watch. It is just what I was looking for. I would have liked to have the distance to the hazards but don't want to pay the extra money. I also use the odometer for walking and biking and it works great. This is perfect for the money!

Have used for 4 rounds-all different courses and no problem finding the course and very accurate on distance.

Great golf GPS
I have had a Skycaddie for the past 5 years and decided that the renewal fee of $59 and the fact that they no longer make the SG5 warranted a move to a new golf GPS. The Garmin Approach S1 fits my needs so far and gives very accurate distances to the front, center, and back of the green. I love the fact that all of the courses I have played so far are pre-loaded. The only drawback is short battery time, so I have to turn it off in between rounds and charge. It really doesn't last longer than a round and 1/2 - especially if you get stuck in a slow group. If and when I upgrade, it will be to the S3 to get the distances to hazards, but so far this has been very reliable and easy to use.

MULTI FACETED DEVICE

My wife loved it!
Once she got comfortable with the operation of the buttons and the menu, she found it very easy to use. We were playing three-nine hole courses, and after she got the proper course identified, she had no problems. It is the third range finder/GPS. We have had, and the only one she will use.

Poor Battery Life and Big Scratch on Face :-/
My watch was delivered and had a large scratch across the face of the plastic face. I bought the watch online as there is no Dicks Sporting Goods near my home so exchange will be difficult. The scratch does not prevent me from viewing the necessary information but it is still annoying. Also... I charge the watch over night and even several days but it conks out after about 15 holes. I think I may have been shipped a defective watch that was returned by another customer.
