    Rated 4 out of 5 by Sturdy bike... doesn't take much effort to ride an hour while watching TV. DELIVERY: This may be important to you. The box (the size of half a twin mattress) weighs about 110-20 lbs. UPS just leaned it against the house. We dragged it to the garage to unbox. UNPACKING: To get the thing in the house, I unboxed it in the garage and took the pieces into the house to the staging area. Only the core piece will likely need two people. It's not that heavy by itself, but awkward to pick up. You'll have a lot of foam board to recycle. PUTTING IT TOGETHER: The instructions are very clear. Take your time and at the end make sure to hand tighten all the pieces. I used a small rechargeable screwdriver with its allen bits. Went a lot faster, but use their tool to do the final tightening (make it very tight per Schwinn) Don't forget the front base that they said not to tighten all the way early in about step 2 but never mentioned it again. There's a misleading insert picture showing the foot "pedals" needing to be even. Schwinn technical support said to ignore it. They meant to illustrate that the pedals when independently fully extended should both be the same distance from the floor. Postpone putting the right-sided control rod on the unit until you are sure you can maneuver it through doors, around cabinets, etc. It's easy to do snap and screw in later. I put the cup holder on last so it wouldn't get in the way. USING IT: I'm not sure if it's my body size (5'4") or short legs, but, I thought at its best adjustment, my knees bent more than I was expecting. If I get what I think is the correct extension, my foot is "off" the pedal when fully extended. This may not be a factor for others, but would suggest you find a 520 in a gym and try it before making the investment. I'll be okay, but it was something I wasn't expecting. I may add some padding to the pedals to reduce the bending of my injury-susceptible knees. I'm getting the exercise I want. PRO: Seems very solid, pretty quiet. Using the front floor bar, you can easily lift and wheel the unit into a location. (Rollers on back crossbar). Smooth operation even at faster revolutions. CON: The left control rod (and iPod/tablet holder) doesn't adjust. You can't angle it closer for easier reading. The electronic display isn't useful for me. I know how "fast" and how long I'm on the machine. I don't need it to set goals, etc. I haven't tested the heart rate yet. Biggest CON is that you can't make the wheel harder to turn for a more strenuous ride. All you can do is ride faster. But a little faster works for me. I don't need to race on it. December 25, 2014
