i wish this was around when I was catching. My son hyperextended his thumb so I bought one for him. It's a little big for his thumb but the product itself is great.

It would be better if it would stay on. This is a great item for catchers if you can get it to work.

My son is a catcher on our traveling baseball team and in August suffered a typical thumb injury most catchers get at some point in there career. We bought the Evo Shield thumb guard. He has been catching again and not complaining of any pain. It also doesn't seem to affect his catching. It was also very easy to form to his hand. Great protection and great product.

My son's thumb was getting banged up a little by our hard throwers. Evo Shield definitely helped by stabilizing and protecting his thumb. So thumbs up (pun intended) from us!

My 10 yr old catcher kept hurt his thumb so we got this product to help him from getting his thumb bent back. It is very important that you fit the thumb gaurd very tight when you mold it or it wont work. The second time around it has worked great.

My son loves the custom thumb protector. Makes catching much more enjoyable for him. Just follow the instructions in the youtube video. This is his second thumb protector. The only downside is that the protector is small and easily lost.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Coach85 Too bulky
This thumb guard is a little too bulky to fit inside the glove. Also beware that you have only a limited time to form this guard before it becomes too hard to adjust. Don't open the foil package until you have your catcher glove available and can spend 30 minutes or so forming the guard. Once the package is opened, you need to shape it, wrap it and put your hand inside your catcher's glove (which is difficult with the ace-wrap in place). The thumb guard will start hardening and will eventually be like a hardened cast that you will not be able to soften up again. You can one chance to do this right.
