Rated 4 out of 5 by aloumeyer Good starter bow. Our sons each have one. Our sons, ages 7 and 9, enjoyed their first archery experience at Cub Scout camp, but we wanted to make sure it wasn't just something novel they'd get bored with. At under $100 a piece, these compound bow/arrow sets seemed like a safe bet for Christmas presents. The draw length and weight are set right in the middle off the shelf, which makes sense. Both settings could stand to be reduced a bit for our 7 year old, who is on the short end of average height and other could definitely be increased for our 9 year old. I don't have a bow press and will need to find someone who can make the adjustment, but at least that's an option with this product. First time out, we learned right away to get to the target with the shortest distance at our nearby public archery range, but we weren't expecting hunting-caliber bows, so no big surprise there. The arrow rest is pretty cheap, made of plastic, and busted on the third shot for one of the bows. I contacted Barnett by email and they got back to me right away. We received a new arrow rest at no charge in about a week. That said, I found some very affordable whisker biscuits on Amazon and we're using those instead. It was easy to swap the parts out, and the bows seem easier to shoot and more accurate now, which means more fun! Seems to make sense that each of these should come with three arrows rather than two since the arrow holder has one empty slot. I ordered three more Barnett junior arrows on Amazon for around $10. Overall, we're happy with the bows. They didn't break the bank, and we're optimistic that our sons will continue to enjoy them for a year or two. April 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bill29 Great bow for a young person. My daughter is 8 years old and this bow is perfect for her. The draw length is a little long, but she'll grow into it. We had use a release instead of fingers because her arrow kept coming off from her grip was too tight. She loves it and that's all that matters. November 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Gill42 Great starter bow, ready to go right out of the wrapper!!! This is a great bow for the money, lots of value. The only thing I didn't care for was the arrows that came with it. I bought new arrows to use right from the start. Aside from that, the bow is a great starter bow that is perfect for you new shooter. I would recommend this package to anyone I know. August 14, 2013

Rated 1 out of 5 by fox snapped in two! Bought it for our nine year old son for his birthday. Snapped in half on the fourth arrow. Not impressed. Son even less impressed. At least it didn't pop him in the face. July 8, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Scooter Great Bow I bought this for my 9 year old son as a birthday present. He loved it! the only reason i did not give it 5 stars was it does not come with a whisker biscuit. He is just using the rest built into the bow for now. It does come with sites, but without a poper arrow rest they are kinda useless. I bought this bow becasue of the sites. I figured if he was going to learn how to shoot a bow, he should learn using sites that every adult bow has. June 13, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Jacob03 Nice bow but the feathers on arrows keep breaking. We want to bring it back to get new arrows but are concerned the problem will continue. Problem with the arrows. Feathers break too easily making arrow useless. They broke during first use. What can we do? June 4, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by theredneck12 somewhat nice the bow feels cheap and looks cheap, the arrows it comes with broke after a few shots! June 2, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Shooter Good starter bow, but didn't last long I bought this for my 10 year old son. It was his first compound bow. It worked well for a few weeks, but it is getting weaker. I did a pull check when we got it. It was right about 22 lbs. Now it's down to 17 lbs. If you don't need the full strength of the bow it would be ok. We are returning it. May 16, 2013
