perfect for trail running I used this shoe for running dirt, sand, rock and gravel trails as well as when I compete in Tough Mudders, Spartans, and other mud runs. The aggressive tread makes the uneven train less taxing on your body/knees and keep the mud for clogging up the sole. Always drain water, keep out rocks, and stay put. Make sure to use a heavier smart wool like sock for extra cushion. The speed lace feature works well for adjusting and keeps them on in the mud pits/swimming obstacles. The shoes clean up easy with the garden hose. The shoes are game changers when doing mud runs, i never leave home without them. March 24, 2013
