Gamer vs. Gamer V2 Well, I was afraid of this when Dicks bought the TopFlight GamerV2 from Callaway...supposedly they just dropped the V2 from the name but seems they dropped the ball as well. After playing a round with the new 'Gamer', they play harder like Top Flight of old. They don't compress the same as the V2....disappointing !! May 3, 2013
Good buy The price is right for these quality balls for the everyday golfer April 23, 2013
Great ball Best ball out there for the price. Performs like a tour ball but with a better price tag. April 23, 2013
Great price, Started golfing again and was talking to a Pro at a different location other than Dick's about many things to approve my game. Gave me a few different golf balls to try and I went with the Gamer over a few others. I did hit them very well and the flight of the ball did help. Will use again for a while until swing gets stronger. Great ball for a 95-105 swing speed. Works for me April 17, 2013
This ball fits my game. The Gamer fits my game. I have shot some of my best rounds with this ball. The Gamer will stop on the greens . It is not hard like the other Top-Flites. It gives me distance off the tee and with my irons. I have used Pro V1,Rocketballs,Taylormade and 330 Callaway and I prefer the Gamer. I was disappointed when I could not longer find them in the Pro Shop, but the Assistant Pro said that YOU bought out Top-Flite and could only find them at your stores. We do not have a Dick's Sportings in the Houston Area so have to order them. Please keep making this product. April 3, 2013
As good or better then NXT Tour When Dick's puchased Top Flite there were rumours that they would drop the Gamer V2, which they did. Apparently the V2 is now just the Gamer, plus they have added a "Tour" model with a high spin cover. I can comment only on the Gamer (or V2) which I used to replace the Titleist NXT Tour balls I was using early last year. As an 18 handicapper I was losing lots of balls, and looked for a less expensive replacement. The Gamer turned out to perform almost exactly as the NXT Tour, perhaps with better holding capacity on the green. Thankfully DIck's decided to keep and expand the model, and hopefully they will consider making it available at other retail stores besides Golf Galaxy. March 26, 2013
I switched I have been a Titlest man for years but the price for the ProV has just gotten rediculous. My brother gave me sleeve of these last year and I I could not believe the performance for a ball that was half what I was paying. It's a three piece ball with everything I want, soft feel lots of spin around the green and forgiving off the driver. I am a 7 handicap and play at least twice a week and this the only ball I play. Topflite should be paying me, the way I've been promoting this ball. Check any golf ball review website and you'll see me mouthing off about this ball. I've been using these almost exclusively for three years now. There is no reason to even consider another ball. Feel, distance, drop and stop iron control, you won't beat 'em. Very parallel performance to the Titleist NXT Tour S......for a lot less moola. Yeah, get over the 'rockflite' reputation, these are entirely different. Callaway bought Topflite a few years back and reformulated the ball entirely. Dick's bought 'em from Callaway and here you go. Just a side-note, my wif'e's a player, using "women's" balls in the past. She tried the Gamer and now she won't use anything else either! March 7, 2013
Dicks Top Flite Gamer I have been playing the old Gamer V2 for a couple of seasons now, and love that ball. Dicks bought the rights to Top Flite and I suppose they are now making the new Gamer and Gamer Tour. I played with the new Gamer, and I can't tell the difference from the V2 balls. This ball flies off the tee, but plays very well around the greens. It is a great ball, and not just for the money. I have wanted a choice for yellow for a long time, and Dicks came through on that. Next up I will be trying the Tour version to see how the urethane effects the ball. March 3, 2013
