Rated 5 out of 5 by Austin88 Great bike for commuting and just plain fun!
Been commuting with the Manitoba for a little more than a month now. I'm finding the components to be decent quality especially for the price. With fenders, a backpack and heavy clothing, my commute speed averages between 15-18 MPH at uninterrupted long stretches with semi-aggressive exercise effort. Great way to combine entertainment, exercise, commuting, and saving from less car expenses. My wheels needed some adjustments. Otherwise, the bike has been reliable. Shifting is smooth. The seat/saddle can be comfy after a while. The tires have been gripping the road well, even loose wet gravel on a steep hill. Looks pretty nice too. Overall, this is a well designed bike and I highly recommend it.

Bike is very nice for price. Calvin/Bike Tech at Dick's was awesome on assembly and assisting with warranty.

After riding the nishiki hybrid for 500 miles. This is an excellent bike.
Today I rode 45 miles and this bike kept up with my friends who ride
expensive road bike at 20 mph. No problem. No problems with shifting
when going over hills. Bike brakes very well. I did make some up-
grades. Went to a smaller tire, 700 X 28 which is the smallest your can go
with the wheel set up. Took the platform pedals off and change them out
with wellgo clip in pedals. With those two minor up grades, the bike rides
alot faster. This is a great bike for anybody getting into biking.

This bike is how I commute to work 2 to 3 times a week. Round trip, that's about 16.5 miles with lots of hills. It is a quick bike, and a vast improvement on my old mountain bike. At a decent price, it's a good value. My only qualm, the tires didn't want to stay inflated long. They'd drop from the 85 psi recommended to the 60 psi minimum on one trip and require inflation again before the trek home. Of course, once it found some glass, I replaced both tires with another (hopefully) more puncture resistant brand, so this issue will hopefully be corrected.

I am a beginner to riding but absolutely LOVE this bike... so far I have been riding on the trail with it and the hybrid aspect makes it so light and easy to guide but it is still able to handle a little debris, etc. from the trails! The seat is actually really comfortable and so are the handlebars and the Manitoba provides such a smooth ride! This is a great bike and at such a fair price for its technology and comfort too! Must buy!

I bought this bike because I wanted to have a smoother road ride than my mountain bike gave me. I wasn't much of a road cyclist, but right away this bike had me riding roads more and more. I've had it three months and have put about 300 miles on it already riding just the weekends. All the components (still) work well and seem sturdy. Personally, I prefer these trigger shifters to the dials on my mountain bike. I've made only minor adjustments since I first assembled it and they were probably more a product of self-assembly and fine tuning than anything else. For the price, this is a great value. I think it would make an excellent commuter bike, if you were so inclined.

Since having this bike for a month now. The nishiki is a great bike for a
person just gettting into biking. The components are mid level. I have not
had any trouble with the brakes, the gears or any shifting problems.
I was so out of shape when I started that I could only ride about 3 miles.
After a month I am up to about 8-12 miles every other day.
This is a great bike for anybody getting into biking.

I went back and forth on other bikes. As soon as I saw this one and sat on it I knew it was right. Riding is so smooth and the bike is super light. Shifting is effortless. The guy setting up the bike was awesome. He set it up so perfect. He kept educating me where I needed it and was very good at what he did.

I bought this bike for occasional biking with my kid. so far bike performed really well - no complaints. Looks good, seems like it very good built. looking forward to more than occasional biking and see how this one performs. If you buying your first bike and not planning on participating in Tour der France take a look at Nishiki.
