How many girls need mountain bikes? We looked for a bike for my 8yo daughter and this is really a great option to have since the standard girl offering in this size is a mountain bike and she isn't ready for a road bike. The tires are thinner & smoother but still with plenty of grip. The crank is a double rather than a triple. This bike is also lighter to handle. Since this was a Christmas gift we really haven't been able to test it outside though she has ridden it on the trainer several times. I cannot make a fair assessment of quality yet. The kit doesn't come with a kickstand and our store didn't have any in stock so I'll have to install myself. No biggie. We ordered online and picked up assembled in the store. January 14, 2013
