Rated 2 out of 5 by It's ok The rod ok had to return it already due to the fact it broke on a cast. The reel isn't good at all Good thing I got the warranty June 9, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by spinning combo Casted poor and line that came on it must have been old because it casted poorly April 28, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrrrrrrrible!!!!!! Stay away. Handle kept coming loose after1 day of use. Reeling not smooth, never mind casting. Line kept getting tangle almost every time I cast. Issues on both combos we bougth. Returned after 2nd day of use. April 15, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by This product is great until it breaks. I use this product for about a month and it is abusively stinks. the reel is no longer smooth and it can get stuck very easily. The only good thing about this combo is the rod the rod is a UL and it is amazing. Other than that i can't say much. July 19, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good as a spare setup It's a descent set up for the money. Recommend dumping the line though and putting on a new line. Tied on a hook and went out to cast it and between the small spool size and the cheap line on the reel, half the line came off on a cast and mucked everything up. Other than that, for the money it isn't a bad setup. May 28, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by nice combo for price Love it use it for trout and pan fish. However save your time don't pre- spool the real. The line that was on it was to heavy to much memory had to use way to much weight to cast. Put four pound on it works great 2lb would probably be great also. April 16, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by am i the only one who never uses line that comes with a rod?? i bought this rod as a trout rod. the line that came with the reel was heavy and i never use the line that is pre-spooled on a reel/rod combo. i put on some 4lb as soon as i got home which has no trouble passing through the eyes unlike the thicker 8-10lb that comes with it. the reel is a little stiff and has trouble closing so i bought a pinnacle trout master reel that i got on sale for 15$ and that solved the reel problem. i have not had the chance to use it on the water yet but have practiced hitting a bucket from about 30 yds and have no problem with the line or the new reel that i put on it. i dont see what everyone is fussing about if youre willing to put a better reel on it it seems like a good deal. and FOR GOD'S SAKE, DO NOT USE THE LINE THAT COMES PRE-SPOOLED ON THE REEL if you choose to use it. Rated 1 out of 5 by No good The line bird nested in about 5 casts and would not spool the line correctly, I changed line thinking it might have been old. Same thing happened. I returned this rod and reel as soon as I got back in town. July 23, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not happy happy First cast was a nightmare. The line that came on the spool was very heavy seemed like 8-10lb string. The line wasn't put on spool properly ( a tail left through center catching the line coming off) . Good thing I take spare poles fishing. After removing supplied line I restrung spool with some 4lb. Second cast sounded like it was binding up on rod eyelets. third cast it sure bound up causing a huge birds nest. I would like to return this combo. I do not recommend buying this pole it is horrible. It ruined 2 fishing trips in 2 days. I would not sell this product or have my name linked to it. May 22, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bad combo - Don't buy it This HT Jimmy Huston rod and reel combo is a cheap and useless product. The guides are so small the line has trouble getting through them. The reel is made very cheap and the spool is so small - that rats nest / tangels are common. I would not recomend this rod and reel combo to any one. It's junk. May 14, 2013
