adidas Men's Energy Boost Running Shoe 4.7 5 9 9
Phenomenal! I have been a competitive runner for over 40 years. I have marveled over shoes such as the Asics Kyano-Gel, Nike Vomero, and Brooks Glycerin opting for the fit and feel of the Vomero and Glycerin over the past 6 and 1 year(s) respectively. Though great shoes, none ever fit to form keeping every part of my foot secure in the shoe. Enter Adidas Energy Boost! Fits like a glove, runs like a dream! These shoes will definitely fit like a calf-skin glove due to the elastic outer shell. The response is like no other running shoe I've used before; exceptionally above the others. Shoes don't necessarily make the runner; however, since running in the Energy Boost I have increased my 3 mile, 5K, 10K, 10 mile, and 13.1 mile pace significantly, if seconds count, in this case by many seconds. I'm convinced that it has to do with the response from my heel or mid-sole strike through toe push off as well as the technology in the sole itself. The feel is just enough cushion but not too spongy, and just enough natural feel, without any slippage in the toe, mid-sole, or heel. I was a sub 6 min mile runner until age 39 and dropped off that mark significantly over the years. Now 51, I am inching my way back to 6 mins perhaps due to better training though I'm convinced, mostly due to the Energy Boost. I had plateaued with my Vomeros and Glycerins. I purchased my Energy Boost at a store because shoes in general, particularly across different brands, don't size well enough to universal standards if you want a snug and proper fit. Since tailor made shoes are not an option, I tried what I consider my starting size and also tried a half size larger pair. On my narrow foot the size that I consider my shoe size was the size I went with because it fit perfectly. The Energy Boost box, or label on the outside of the box, states that you should size this shoe a half-size larger than your normal shoe size. I recommend that you size the shoe in person before ordering online. While the larger shoe may feel like it fits better, for example, the shoe doesn't feel as tight on your big toe, it leaves more sole sticking out beyond your foot. For me, that is not an adequate fit, especially when pushing off the toe. Therefore I opted to go with a sole that fit my foot to size. Seems to have worked well without hurting my big toe or bruising my nail. Enjoy your runs in whatever shoes you choose, for now, the Adidas Energy Boost have my attention in a big way! The question, and every runner's demise, will Adidas keep this shoe line running with improved technology, quality and performance of the current model? We shall see. April 29, 2013
Great Shoe I run 45+ miles a week. I purchased these shoes and fell in love with them. They have been my "go to shoe" sine I purchased them. (I usually run in Brooks Ghost). I just completed a half marathon in them today and my legs feel/felt amazing! I would highly recommend these shoes for any runner. I purchased the red pair and will be purchasing the black pair next. Other reviews are accurate in getting a half size bigger. April 28, 2013
Adidas Boost Amazing comfortable . Costly but well worth it. May get second pair April 9, 2013
Energy Boost So far so good. I've been fighting shin and calf problems for the last few years. I've tried every top brand to try to find a shoe that would allow me to keep running. These were my last hope. I've only been running in them about 3 weeks but so far I have noticed little to no pain. I would highly recommend them. April 4, 2013
Average I was told by a friend that this shoe felt good. Taking his word I ordered it and the shoe looks awesome. I ordered a size 11 which is the same size I wear in Brooks. Upon putting the shoe on my toe was at the end with no room to spare. If ordering make sure you order at least a half size bigger or go to a store and try them on. The cushioning of the shoe felt good on the heal but around the toe area was shy. I have had some knee issues and was looking for a shoe that would help reduce some impact. After sending these shoes back I decided to go with the Hoka One One Bondi B. It is awesome. April 2, 2013
Totally worth it This shoes definately boosted my run. I run 3 miles everyday. My first mile has an average of 9 minutes and 30 seconds and the rest of my 3 miles an average of 11 minutes and thirty seconds. By the way i used Nike Free Run 3 shoes. With Boost my first mile was 7:12, more than a minute faster, and my average was 10:27. I get this accurate results with the app Nike Running by the way. March 29, 2013
a tad narrow but great I think the Boosts are following Adidas' sizing since the 80's. They always been a great company, however the shoes have always been on the narrow side. I take an 11 in every other shoe and based on reviews of the Boosts I got 11.5's. They fit great, a little tight but they should stretch. March 25, 2013
Best I Iove this sneakers. They are the best I ever had. One should buy half size larger. March 12, 2013
Wow! I run 12 miles a week. I have tried every shoe over the years. This is an amazing shoe. Fits like a glove! Get a half size larger than usual. March 4, 2013
