Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product. I had more distance from the X-Hot compared the R1. It's one of the lightest drivers I've ever held. I like the simple adjustability also. February 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Money well spent. No more slice. Added 20 plus yards off the tee. I tried the taylor made 2.0 in the simulator at dicks. A hit that thing 250 plus yards when I hit it good. Was hard to control and still had my slice. I bought it anyway. I went to the range twice and could not hit that club and it felt uncomfortable. Slice, hook ect..... I returned it to dicks. They had no hit marks so I got full refund. With that said I have limited money and did not want to spend a lot. Then I read reviews on this new callaway. While at the store I had they tape it up and away I went. First its set for standard position from the store. You could open or close the face with the tool provided. What I read is these clubs have a draw bias built in. Just what us slicers need. I come outside in on the ball and have been doing it my whole 30 years playing golf. With that said I picked the 9.5 degree because my launch angle was right around 12 degrees. With the 10.5 I was at 28 degree launch angle. Next check your swing speed. I use regular flex. My swing is 80-85 mph. Some in the 90's. Unless your over 100 mph stick with the regular. Next this club must reduce ball spin because I am no longer slicing or fading the ball. Every shot is either straight or has a slight draw. I have never had a draw in my life. The feel is explosive with a great bink sound that lets you know you hit it perfect. Even the few mishits on the heel take off and are very forgiving. To shape a shot for a good draw I put the ball more behind in my stance and move my hands slightly forward. This make you swing more inside out. If I want to fade I do the opposite. My old wilson I was barely hitting 200 yards with a constant slice. The talyor made I was hitting 240 on avg but was all over the place. Hard left or right. This calloway x hot I am hitting 225 on average and the best part is every shot was consistent with the exact same flight pattern. I feel its better to sacrifice some distance to have a club that keeps you in the fairway Hit more fairways and your score will lower...trust me. So I went out to the course yesterday and played 18 holes. I hit every fairway. I also have the three wood and that alone improved my game too. I can get to the greens on two.... I am saving for the 4 wood and 5 wood. They will be my next two clubs. After that possibly santa will get me the x hot irons.... Go to dicks and hot this club. Especially if you slice. If you tend to hook the ball have them open the face for you. Get your launch angle right and pick the right shaft. You will love this club. March 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Club, especially when graduating from Starter Set I am not the best golfer, but I am getting better. I have not played since I was 13 and picked it up again at 26. Bought a beginner set and quickly graduated from that. I tried out a few different drivers at the local Dicks and Dan helped me out quite a bit. I tried the Nike Covert, Taylor Made Rocketballs Stage 2 driver, and this Callaway X Hot Driver. I hit lefty and have a hard slice, the Callaway took some of the slice away and I consistently hit the fairway playing a decent fade (still figuring out the straightness) I have a fast swing and consistently drive the ball 280-315 on the course and the range. My starter set driver was sitting around 265-275 range with massive slice. The TM, while being able to swing it fast, did not carry over into ball speed. The head did not have enough weight for my liking. The Nike felt off for me and was quickly put back, just didn't like how it felt off the face. The Callaway even on mis hit, still went straight and carried 250-270 range but when hit square and solid, felt effortless on the club face. Being able to close the face off as well to help with my slice was a selling point for me with my style of play. Everyone will have their own opinions on golf clubs and how the feel for their personal game. For me, this club was great. It was in the price range I was trying to stay within, which was below $250, got it for $219, and it performs out on the course. This has helped save me from losing golf balls in woods because of a slice as well as lower my score and increase my confidence while playing. July 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Listen to the Pro-if you have a good one. I walked to try the TM RBZ Stage2, I have read so many reviews and all the talk had me convinced that this would be the next club for me to move up to from from my TM Superfast. The pro at the Hunting,WV Dick's TYLER , was very nice and he setup the monitor and taped the RBZ for and proceeded to watch me. I'm right at 58 yrs old and my swing speed is 85mph at best. THat being said the RBZ was just getting me around 210-215 yards and even with a closed face I had a serious fade of 20 to 30 yards. Tyler ask if I wanted to try a Callaway X-Hot, I said sure but I hadn't found a Callaway driver in years that I could do any good with although I always play Callaway irons. Man was I ever thankful for Tyler's advise. My first hits with the S setting were 220 to 225 and much straighter then he adjested it to the C setting and what a difference it made. I was sold on it then, straight shot after shot and the difference it made in the confidence of my shots was what I had hoped for. So upon buying it I proceeded to a driving range that was close by, WHOA! what this club did in the real world was spot on, I could pick my area on the range that I wanted to hit and put it there. THANKS TYLER! April 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Callaway is back? Callaway's new X Hot driver and fairway woods (and the rest of the X Hot line of clubs) just might be what Callaway has been looking for to get back to those glory days of the Great Big Bertha era. I like everything about this driver: great looks, feel and performance. Stock shaft is a beauty; I even like the head covers. The grey and black colors, along with the minimal graphics are really nice. A very confidence inspiring club. March 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Completely changed my game! It has just been unbelievable the way this driver has improved my game. I purchased the driver with a 13.5 degree loft. I'm hitting straight with a much improved trajectory. My playing partners are astounded at the immediate improvement in my drives from earlier in the season. Im now excited again to have a tee time. I wouldn't have taken the time to write if I didn't believe it was the X Hot that made the improvement. September 30, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice club When I struck it right, I gained 20 to 30 yards on my drives. Good buy and cheaper than the R1 and R11. The salesman really wanted me to buy the R1 but I hit the Callaway better so I went with the Callaway. March 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Driver...But !!! The Driver I received from Dicks was used ! It had swing marks on the bottom, and two hit scratches on the top of the face. I guess that's what you get for the reduced price. As far as the Driver goes it is a great Driver, good trampoline effect, and the adjustments, make a big difference to the flight of the ball. Hopefully you will get to be the first one to hit it, if you buy from Dicks. September 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than RBZ Stage 2 I bought the Taylormade RBZ Stage 2 earlier this year. I am a beginner and it was an improvement over my old used clubs. However price at the time was the only thing keeping me from the X-Hot. The price dropped and I got it. My club head speed is faster and my ball is straighter than ever. Highly recommend this club. Rated 5 out of 5 by The X Hot Had a little trouble with Callway cancelling my order but Dick's managers stayed on it...got the stick and it was set up weird...had a pro look at it...seems that there are three settings for the loft and three for the angle of the head...he set it to normal and I hit it on the driving range...a number of the balls went into the woods in back...this is every bit as hot a stick as they say...Dick's pro said I would get maybe 10 to 15 yards more. I went from 180-190 yards up to 225 yards and I think as I get used to the stick I can do even better...great purchase of a "HOT" driver...pro says the fairway wood is even hotter...I can only imagine...Thanks Dick's (Tom the pro, and Brandon et al managers).
