Humminbird PiranhaMax 175 Fish Finder 4.3 5 7 7
Excellent value for the money! I purchased this to put on my fishing kayak (F&S 12' Eagle Run) that I recently purchased. I wasn't looking for the functionality or features of a big boat based unit. It's lightweight, delivers 16-level grayscale and I can run it on 8AA batteries for many hours. Humminbird delivers a cost effective, usable finder with the PiranhaMax 175. August 22, 2014
hummingbird works great. does a good job for the money! what do you want a book? August 5, 2014
Good Basic Unit for the money Easy to install, easy to navigate through the settings. Good basic unit for the money. The only item I believe to be sub par is the the loudness if the audible alarm when fish are located by the unit. You have to have super sonic hearing to hear it, especially if you are running a trolling motor. There may be an adjustment I'm missing and if so have yet to figure it out.Other than that happy with purchase. July 22, 2014
Basic Finder The unit works as expected. This is just a basic unit, small compact easy to read screen and user friendly. I use it only to track bottom contour, water depth and temp. I purchased it to mount on a kayak knowing that I would either need to swap the transom mount transducer for scupper mount transducer or fabricate my own mount. After discussing my options and prices associated with the swap option at Hummingbird customer service I chose to fabricate my own mount. It was ridiculously expensive to swap the transducer and would have nearly doubled the original price of the unit. My fabricated mount cost me 9.00 in materials! I gave the unit 3 stars for that reason only. All fish finder manufactures would do well to offer the various units with a supper mount to the folks who use a kayak for fishing instead of trying to exploit that group for more money by only offering the appropriate transducer as an accessory. Exactly what I was looking for. I explained what I would be using the Fish Finder for. Greg ( sales associate) went above and beyond to show me what I needed. It;s perfect. Thanks again to Greg. June 24, 2014
Good fish/ depth finder this is a good fish/ depth finder for the cost. I rigged this up for a portable set up with the transponder on a 6' pipe. August 15, 2013
Humming Bird can't sing Well so far I have not been able to get this dadburn sonar devise mounted in my boat. It is a fine looking thing I just can't figure out how to make it work without drilling a hole in the bottom of my boat. I've learned from past experience that holes are "bad" for buoyancy.
