Rated 2 out of 5 by Rogue Rascal Merrell Men's Barefoot Run Road Glove 2 Trail Running Shoe
Big fan of the 5-Finger and the Merrell Trail Glove 2. Usually put in around 100 miles a month. Thought Id give the Road Glove a try and regretted it. There was nothing wrong with the shoe. It fit well and I guess it was comfortable. I just had a hard time staying on the ball of my feet and found that I was trotting flat footed more often. My chins hurt. My lower back hurt. I just wasnt a fan. Went back to the Merrell Trail Glove which I actually ran the soles off of my first pair.

I have had merrell trail gloves before and put about 800miles of good running on them before running a hole in the tread, got some other shoes and then got these after the others blew apart on me. These are nice and airy and ran maybe a half size bigger than the previous version but that may be the downfall. After running about 300-400miles in them and doing one 50mile Ultra they are now blowing apart where the soft upper meets the sole on the right outside by the pinky toe. I run quite a bit and in different shoes but this is just a random weak point in the milage this shoe could handle. The tread is wearing very nicely but the upper splitting apart is just bad design. The only problem with the trail glove from previous was that I ran through the bottom after a long 800miles, typical and now they are lawn mowing shoes. I typically ran about 20-30 miles a week with them at higher tempos in the heat of the Florida Keys for the duration I had them and I am in the 190lb range for body weight if that matters.

They are very light and feel like you are wearing nothing. They do take a little getting used to being they are a flat shoe. After a while it does feel like your barefooted. I don't run but wear them all around. Cant go wrong with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by John F Great shoe! Better than expected.
I was looking for more of a minimalist shoe that I could wear for trail runs. I typically run with flats on flat trail but was looking for something that could handle trails with bigger rocks. I was weary at first about this shoe because it has a thin sole but it has more of a sole than the other full minimalist shoe Merrell offers. The tread is also not a typical beefy or knobby tread for trails but it actually works quite well on my runs! I'm very happy with this shoe and would buy it again. The only downside is running in sand. That's where the knobby tread helps. I would recommend trying these in store if you are not familiar with a thinner sole shoe. It also has a very generous toe box which I like a lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jim in NM What comfortable shoes
I picked these up to use on the golf course because of the general warm conditions we have in Southern NM. They fit like a glove and are lightweight and still offer arch great support. It is like not having a shoe on and walking in bare feet. I love them.

I train everyday and these shoes are awesome to run, lift, and cross train in. I feel lighter and faster while wearing them. I will not train in sneakers ever again.
