Sweet bike I love this bike iv taken it everywhere and it has not failed me yet May 9, 2013
Great bike This is my first bike of this kind. I have been riding a $80 Wal-Mart bike for years now and there is no comparing the two (I love disk breaks and the shifters on this thing). I bought this bike at a store and everything has worked flawlessly for the 40 miles I have put on it so far. Three recommendations for anyone looking to buy one of these though; first, get a more comfy seat; second, buy some slime or something for the tires because sandspurs will get through the provided rubber; and third, tighten all the extraneous hex screws down before heading out, because Dick's does a good job with the critical stuff but missed the water bottle mounts and I almost lost 2 of them. The only other thing is the peddles are plastic. They feel pretty solid so I am not going to replace them until they let me down but it is something to consider. May 7, 2013
Excellent value I purchased this bike (2012 model), to ride with my family and train for the Trek Across Maine. The gears shift easily with the triggers with little adjustment. First time with the disc brakes and they work great in the wetter conditions. Since currently riding a lot on the road, I had changed the tires to a more smoother tread recently. Seat a little uncomfortable until you find your adjustment, it may take a few long rides. The only reason not to give five stars was that the handle bar height (threadless type) was unadjustable to go higher but will go lower if that is what you need. There are a few cycling enthusiasts that work at Dick's that can answer a lot of questions but need to ask how they ride first. May 7, 2013
good quality for a fair price I believe that the diamondback response is a great product and I felt that the service was excellent. I shop at Dick's because the product are much better than most "box stores" and the staff is both friendly and knowledgable. April 23, 2013
A little pricey but good quality This bike so far has held up well and seems to be sturdy and of good quality. I've never used a bike with disc brakes before so that takes a little getting used too but other than that great bike especially if you can get it on sale as the non-sale price is a little steep. Awesome mountain bike for the money ! Got this bike for my girlfriends birthday she loves it ! Very happy with quality of this diamond back . April 16, 2013
Great value. Great bike for the money. Very lightweight. The disc brakes work well so far. Seat is a little stiff. Grips are good. Pretty knobby tires for the money. Love that the pedals have a pop off reflector for easy access to put your toe clips on. April 2, 2013
Great bike and great value I just bought this bike a couple days ago based on the price and reviews that I have seen regarding the 2012 model. First off, the bike just looks good. It's light and has mostly quality equipment/features. The seat isn't the most comfortable thing, but this is a mountain bike not a beach cruiser, so I will be standing on the pedals the majority of the time and comfort wasn't the reason I bought it anyway. I noticed possible issues with the rear axle on the 2012 model that some people commented about, but it seems they have increased the thickness and strength of the rear axle in this years (2013) model to compensate for that. I doubt someone will snap the rear axle on this bike, or at least it will be quite a feat to do so. I'm not a seasoned rider and haven't adjusted a bike in years, but I brought this one home and it was stupid easy to make all the adjustments to the derailers and brakes and really don't see it requiring too many adjustments in the future. I did some bunny hops and jumping off curbs and so forth to test the shifting and brakes with all equipment maintaining the adjustments I made. I can't give a testament to the longevity of this bike and how it holds up under a long term pounding, but I will add that into this review once I have the bike for a bit longer. April 1, 2013
