The boot's outsole is equipped with 4 mm multidirectional lugs to grind into all grounds, while KEEN.DRY waterproof breathable membrane keeps the foot dry and comfortable. ESS shank gives stability, and the mid-cut height increases ankle support over rocky ground. The dual-density compression-molded EVA midsole gives the foot comfort throughout every hike.

Comfort like everyone says...
I read many reviews before purchasing this boot. So comfortable right from the box, wide enough to pull the laces even tighter. Wonderful insole with a nice arch but I may need a little more arch support, I would hate to take out this insole. Great waterproofing so far. Now, as others have said these run short! I went up half a size and maybe could have gone up a whole size. They RUN SHORT. They have a nice thick sole but it is flexible, I wish I felt that they were gripping the trail better. I haven't slipped but on a paved walking trail today they felt slick in a wet area.
