Rated 4 out of 5 by jimbo so far so good
Couldn't resist the price. I have always had luck with quantum. But this will be my first baitcaster by them. I spooled it up with 12 lb flouro. It os exceptionally smooth and cast quite easily. No back lashes so far. I am using it as my worm combo took about 20 seconds to tune a texas rigged senko and I can cast them on this real almost as far as I can a 3/4 oz jig on my abu silver. Drag seems very nice. But the only thing I would say could be innaccurate is the power. Mine says it is MH but I would rate it as a mediuim. Also my first baitcaster with put a flipping switch.

Every year I go up to Vermont and I like to fish with crankbaits jigs and live baits and this is good for all of them. I am somewhat new to baitcasting combos so I get backlashes sometimes but I love this rod. I usually use a 12 lb line

Bought this combo. The reel is very cheaply made and back-lashes causing very bad tangles. You can adjust the line tension but in reality there is no noticeable difference between 10 and 1 on the tension scale. There is a plastic cap that is usually metal that on any conventional reel will be used for speed that the line goes out but just covers up a gear mechanism. The rod is ok not very responsive. Its very cheap and is so for a good reason. Dont waste your money on this product and spend the extra 60-80 dollars to get a quality rod and reel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BrianC Great for beginners
this is my first baitcaster. Spooled it up 12# sufix mono. Have used it for both bass and striper and has held up great up to now. Have a little difficulty with backlashes with lighter lures but then again im still learning. Overall a great rod and fairly sensitive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rbf403 Product Good...After exchanging the damaged one that was shipped to us!!!
After receiving the first pole damaged due to shipping in a box that was 5 feet longer then needed & not having adequate packaging, we went directly to the store and exchanged it. So far I'm pretty happy with the pole. Cast is smooth, has good flexiblity and is not too heavy. Happy with the purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Z Fish This product is average at best.
Tried many different lb. test with only moderate success. The rod is not bad for price. The reel drag setting capabilities are not up to par and the reel itself came a part on three occasions. This combo was purchased as back up on sale but for a few dollars more there are better options.

Rated 1 out of 5 by RichJ Exactly what Falcon said
Those of you writing the positive reviews, just wait! If you use this rod & reel at all, it is bound to fail or start failing. I liked this setup at first. Like Falcon said, I have tried every line imaginable with this. The only thing it seems to cast well are heavier mono lines. I have tried braid and it wasn't horrible, but it was far from good. The closest I got to good was using 12# Suffix mono line. Pay the extra $20 and get the $20 mail-in rebate and get the Abu Garcia Black Max combo. I don't care what I put on that Abu reel, it casts like butter, and for the same exact price! Unlike Falcon, I am not a fan of this rod, except for tossing weightless baits. Anything heavier than 1/4oz and it looks like fish on the entire time you reel in a bait.
