Customer Reviews:

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Crossbow I bought my Quad 400 for Christmas and could not be happier. I can consistently hit the center of a bullseye the size of a quarter at 20 yards. Haven't had a chance to work on farther distances yet - too busy hunting. Don't worry - not looking to kill a deer at 50 yards just yet. Many of the older reviews have been deleted from view, but wonder if some of the few bad reviews came from just not reading the manual before use. It is important to keep the string, cables, and flight rail waxed. I wax mine every 5-6 shots - better too often than not enough (wax is cheaper than string replacement) Failure to do so will shorten the life of the cables and string. When cocking, make sure you are pulling the string back toward the flight rail as you pull up. Failure to do so will cause you to break the arrow retaining spring that presses on the bolt from the top and keeps it in position on the flight rail. Also, when cocking the crossbow you should listen for two clicks - the second click assures that it is fully cocked with the safety automatically set to the ON position. If you have trouble moving the safety to the OFF position, make sure that you have a bolt loaded and far enough back to the string that it allows the safety switch to work. The crossbow is designed to stay in the ON position until a bolt is properly loaded, as to prevent a dry fire that would cause damage to the crossbow. If you can't move the safety switch, first make sure you have a bolt in the proper position. If you try to fire your crossbow without a bolt and with the safety ON, it can possibly lock up the safety switch. Should this happen, try using your cocking device to pull the string back again to reset the switch. The manual recommends 22" 2216 carbon or aluminum bolts with a broadhead weight of 125 grains and a total weight of the bolt and broadhead of AT LEAST 460 grains. UNDERSIZED or UNDERWEIGHT bolts can cause limb damage. If you are looking for lighted nocks to replace the nocks on the bolts provided, make sure they are half moon and work with a 2216 carbon bolt. One last thing, every 20-25 shots check to make sure the allen head bolt holding the limb assembly on to the body is tight. It can loosen over time and can cause the limbs to move right or left and throw off your shot. Hope you find this helpful. Happy hunting! January 21, 2015
