Good purchase
This is a handy, compact floatation belt for water aerobics. It might not be the best choice for a total beginner - hard to say. But it is somewhat less bouyant than the ones provided by the pool where I swim, and thus it provides more of a workout. It is also much less bulky and cumbersome. It stays put and is easy to take along to different places. The belt could probably be replaced whenever it gets stretched out. The main downside I see is that the belt only runs through the fabric covering. Eventually that may fail, but the price is reasonable. I like it.

Water Belt
I exercise regularly in water classes. I bought this belt to exercise when I not able to get to my gym. It seems great, so far.
