by Cali1906 Excellent Multi-Purpose Combo
I am an avid fisherman! I Love Panfishing, but also enjoy Bass fishing a great deal. I was attracted to the Daiwa Crossfire Combo because of the Sensitive Ultralight rod and smooth feel of the 3+1 ball bearing reel. The Crossfire combos (I purchased two) are proving themselves to be excellent multi-purpose combos. I have taken the Crossfires on several outtings, and they have fuctioned flawlessly. The reels cast smoothly and the drag is consistant. The Rods are very sensitive but have great backbone and strength. I have caught everything from 2-3lb Slab Crappie and Shellcrackers to 5lb Catfish to multiple 1-3 Bass, and even a 7lb 2oz Bass (See picture) all using the Crossfire. I am pleased with these combos and recommend them highly.

For the $50 this is an excellent combo. I have had it out fishing several times already and it functions flawlessly. My only real concern is the thickness of the rod. It is very sensitive and has a fragile look and feel. The reel is great but i envision the rod snapping with a heavy fish on the other end

Would buy again. Lightweight, comfy, super caster and smooth reel. Wish the rod was a little thicker to give me piece of mind that the tip won't snap. Looks good so far.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Yakman Nice rod, reel needs help
I am not too happy with the reel that came with this package. I played with it in the store and it didn't feel too bad, but after getting it set up and taking it out, the reel feels very rough when reeling in. I will tear it down and see if there is anything I can do with it, but it will probably be replaced. I like the rod. It has pretty good feel and I like that it breaks down to fit it the vehicle.

First day I got this rod and reel combo I caught a 4lbs bass and then a second 5lbs bass. This rod and reel preforms like a $200 rod and reel. For only $50 this rod is very good for the price. I would recommend this rod and reel combo to any level angler.

This combo has nice balance due to reel placement relative to the cantilever rod grip.Reel finish lends itself to smooth line release. Great combo for the weekender l oh ght tackle angler.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Scotty Wish it didn't break
Purchased this combo mainly because I liked the feel of the rod, had the combo for about two weeks, and it performed great for the money. The reel is ok, fair for the price of the combo. My complaint is that the line guides are not very sturdy and one of the inserts has popped out already. I take care of my rods and expected it to hold up better.

BUddy was in town and wanted to hit the lake with me. He's not a fisherman but wanted something to throw drop shop on. Bought this for 20 bucks as a combo. Took it out and he caught his first legal Largemouth..bout 3lbs or so.
for 20 bucks, this is an amazing value.

by KSUfisherman good deal
This combo is great. The retrieve is smooth, the rod is sensitive, and the drag is excellent. The only problem was that the largest guide is offset, so that throws off the alignment (I'm sure that was only a problem with mine). Already caught a nice wiper and a crappie with it.
