Rated 2 out of 5 by Fragile I bought this rod to fish for crappie and bluegill. Over the past weekend I only made about 20 casts with it, and caught one fish and when I was reeling in the fish the rod tip broke. March 5, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great trout rod This is a great trout rod. Outstanding casting ability and the rod sensitivity is extroardinary. Bought one for my wife(who regularly outfishes me), we liked it so much I bought another one for myself. We fish alot and this rod has never let us down. September 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Phenomenal reel and rod This reel and rod is amazing and especially for 20.00 dollars. you should get this reel for your kid, friend, or even you! I have caught 34 bass and 18 catfish counting with this rod. I highly recommend this product. September 18, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Barely enough rod for a 16 inch smallmouth bass The rod and reel work fine. changed from 4 to 8 lb test. Any fish feels like a big fish on it. But you can't guide a decent sized bass away from the propeller with it. August 15, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good value I have a number of other rod setups but no ultralight so I wanted to try a cheaper combo before investing In a pricy ultralight. After looking at this, a southbend combo, and the ugly stick life combo I decided that this would be best value and better sensitivity (but less durability) than ugly stick. I came on here to see if dicks has them and to my suprise they were running a "10$ off any rod and reel combo" promo online so I got this shipped to my door for 16$! I was nervous it would get damaged by so far it has been fine. And the reel is surprisingly smooth compared to ones I tried in stores assumably because it hasn't been abused. The rod has more action than I would like and would cast better and be more sensitive with a little more stiffness, but would probably break easier. Either way I have caught a few bluegilll and one small bass on it and for 16$ it is an incredible value and good way to try out ultralight fishing. July 14, 2013
