Rated 5 out of 5 by Premium product for the money !!!! I own 3 of these rods and absolutely love them !! I can cast so much farther with them than with my old rods . I have caught a 5lb 3 oz largemouth and landed it with ease .For the price they are made with excellent quality. I own a rod I paid $150.00 for and I like these just as well . I highly recommend these rods !!! May 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Choice Rod cannot be beat for the price and performance. Excellent choice! May 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice feel for an inexpensive rod People have been talking about how this rod is a back up. I found that it is light enough to fish all afternoon, sensitive enough to distinguish bass that are not active, and enough backbone to land fish in grass with confidence. Good buy for the price. Rated 4 out of 5 by Flippin' & Pitchin' Worms I've been looking for a two-piece 7'6" heavy casting rod for Texas-rigged worming. That's not easy to find for a Bass rod. Easy for Steelhead or Salmon, but I didn't want a 16"+ handle - it gets in the way when you're flippin' & pitchin' plastic worms. Found this while strolling through DSG. Pros: * Two-piece construction. * It's cheap. * Aluminum Oxide guides. * Relatively light at 5.9oz. * Short handle - 12" from tip of trigger to end of butt. * Exposed blank through grip. Cons: * Short on eyes. It has 7 + tip, and only one of those is double-foot. * The first eye is 24" from the reel face. * Fast Action - wish it was extra-fast. * The grip diameter is a little small. With that said, since I'm not distance casting with it, the eye shortage won't be a big problem. At this price-point, I'll make do with the fast action and small grip. Bottom line: I find this rod to be mission-adequate for flippin' & pitchin' Texas-rigged plastics. Especially so at this price! September 17, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Surprisingly Good The rod is as fairly sensitive considering how affordable it is. I own the 6'6" medium action. I find it most useful for casting light jig heads and small topwater lures when targeting bass. I will also use it for lipless crank baits that are 1/2 oz or smaller. The tip is relatively soft, so fish can't throw trebles that easily. You can use this for smaller jerk baits and flukes as well if you are using light wire hooks. I wish the rod had more guides to help with the flex when fighting bigger fish. The medium action is a bit thinner than most other companies. The reel seat is also a little loose, which can be felt any time a decent fish is on the line. However, it has held up exceedingly well for a rod under $30. I would definitely recommend this to those just getting started with casting rods. See my attached photo of a near 3lb smallmouth I caught on this rod. Pulled it through current without breaking! Rated 5 out of 5 by Great 2 piece bait cast rod for car As review title says I needed a 2 piece casting rod to carry in my trunk, I found this rod, I have a spinning rod just like it. This is a nice rod I do recommend it October 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by strong and durable It was sturdy and durable I caught a 30lb stingray that pull the rod almost in half and it didn't snap. Love it. August 12, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by this has a good field to it. the rod is very light and has a good field in casting and the guides give you a good line control. May 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great rod for a two-piece! As rods go, infernos are nothing special-Chinese chopsticks are what some call rods like these. But, finding two piece casting rods in 7 ft med heavy is not easy. However, infernos come in two piece med heavy, so I have a cheap portable casting rod. I don't push it to its limits, and it serves me nicely. Finding a two piece spinning rod is easy, there are several makes and models of those. But most two piece casting rods are 6.5 ft long or less, and always medium action. I needed a med heavy 7 ft rod for fishin on the go. The inferno handles everything I throw on it, and still manages to be lightweight. It's not the most balanced rod, but for $30, i don't expect it to be. Hey, quality rods are one piece, but its inconvenient when you're a shore fishermen or on the go to port 7' or longer rods from place to place fully extended. Infernos offer convenient and not too bad rods at a great price. April 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Short has it's advantages Works great in the places that have very little clearance for casting, trees, bushes etc. Has good tip action to get the lure out there. August 4, 2013
