Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 35 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent but can't use a bobber stop Great rod, but my one complaint -- and I knew this going into it, just want to call it out -- is that the micro guides (which are generally really nice to have) are too small to let a bobber stop through. I use the rubber kind, and I might try the knot style to see if that works, but I'm not hopeful. The tip guide is really tight. That said, I'm not disappointed & I really like the rod. For the price it's good. But if you plan to use a bobber stop way up your line, you probably want to go with something with larger guides. January 12, 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tec-lite I bought this rod with the intent for targeting crappie, and whithin the first hour of using it I got to test its slab slaying cababilities. I coupled it with 4lb flouro & an Abu Garcia cardinal 10. I was throwing 1/32oz arkie jig with a silver 1" fluke style trailer. For only being 6ft, it pitched a light bait considerably far for such a light setup, which I was happy with, I was bank fishing at this particular spot & the fish were out there quite a way under a bridge. Its stiff enough to pitch underhand with accuracy as well has enough flex to hoist a nice size fish out & in your hand. The cork handle is primo & the split grip (bass style) handle is just what you need for feeling the subtle bites of a lite-jig. For under $100 this pole is worthy. February 3, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Rod / small guides Great rod but one flaw. The guides are to small for a rubber stopper when using a slip bobber set up. January 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by OUTSTANDING IN LIGHT ACTION O-kay...This is partially a review and partially a complaint. The rod itself is really useful (reviewing the 6 1/2 foot light version) it is quick-tipped enough to have fun with panfish and substantial enough in butt-flex to manage just about any 5/6 pound fish given reasonably open water and a good reel (especially if you can 'back-reel'---kinda a lost art, in my opinion) My complaint is that this version is HARD to get. It is available very sporadically....have found one in the store and got one online. But the wait to 'catch' it was watching every day for three weeks. The rod is attractive with a 'green/gold' finish, excellent action, Small-ish diameter grip (preferred in this flex) decent cork and ELEVEN quality guides...this many guides really makes a difference on bigger fish as it requires the rod to work over it's entire flex spectrum. I'm a surgeon and I can use anything I want to (and have some very serious rods) but this is my favorite panfish/stream bass/trout rod. I would buy three more right now if I could.... October 6, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Field & Stream Tec-Lite I own the 5'6 one piece and the 6'0 two piece. These rods are as good as you can get for the price with a palm swell. Both are paired with Shimano Sedona reels and 4lb Berkley Vanish. I would never own a different rod unless it was for free. Perfect set up for creek fishing with rooster tails and corn. Rated 5 out of 5 by True as advertised Use it river fishing for trout. Excellent so far. Paired with Shimano Sonora reel, Berkley 6lb fluorocarbon line and 1/8 oz spinners August 31, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Rod Have this rod paired with a a shimano Sedona 1000 series and I am very impressed. Was on my kayak catching blue gills for bait and hooked into a three pound channel cat(my intended target) on four pound test. Rod performed perfectly and actually was some of the most fun I've had cat fishing. More than satisfied with this rod. It is sensitive strong and and well made. Will be my go to trout and small bass rod. August 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Highly Reccommend! Bought my first one two years ago and fell in love with it. Got the 2 piece 6' and have caught everything form 3 lb cutthroats in Yellowstone Lake to 4 lb smallmouths in NC. I own several more expensive rods but choose to fish with this one. Teamed with a Pflueger President 6920 and 8 lb Berkley Fireline Crystal Braid with 8' Fluorocarbon leader the feel and hook set are unbelievable. July 31, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome rod The sensitivity is great. They have added extra eye outlets up the pole and with 6lb test it seems to hold its own against even big fish. I will certainly be purchasing another. July 7, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent LIGHT ROD!!! This Rod is so light and yet durable and strong, especially for all the Finesse Fisherman out there! Best to use with a Pflueger Arbor spinning reel 7430 model. Its very balanced and you can cast all day without your wrist getting tired. Best to use with 1/8 and 1/4 ounce lures. It will handle lures up to 3/8 ounce. May 6, 2015
