Rated 1 out of 5 by poor quality limits usage I bought one of these for my 14 year old son last year. the brackets for the backboard aren't substantial enough to support the weight of a 130 lb kid dunking on the system. Additionally, you need to have it installed, which for us we about $400 added cost. It's just not worth the money to purchase something that a kid can't fulfill his basketball dreams on. Find a different system that kids can dunk on and envision their NBA dreams. May 13, 2016

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice product and excellent installation Did not get the pole pad. Everything else works great. Installer was quick and professional. November 10, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great goal for the $ I ordered this goal to be installed at a local private school. It is a good product satisfying the basic requirements of a basketball goal. Installation was pretty straightforward and helped that we obtained a concrete contractor to pour the foundation. It has an easy mechanism to move the rim to different heights with the spinning handle. The backboard is slightly undersized, however makes installation a bit easier than a Goalrilla. I was able to purchase this product 50% off at $599, which was quite a value. If you are going to spend over $1,000, I would go for a larger goal and backboard, but it is perfect for younger ages or a semi-basketball enthusiast. October 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Goaliath basketball hoop - made smiles on boys and girls The instructions to install the Goaliath 54'' In-Ground Basketball Hoop with Pole Pad were easy to follow. Though I thought paying for the installation, the corporate group was convinced that they could install the pole themselves. They were able to do the installation in a period of 3 hours. The installation of this basketball pole was part of a volunteer day of service at a Boys & Girls Club organization. October 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by No Complaints - Great Product I just finished installing this hoop today with my two young sons, 11 & 13. Nice product and I'm very happy with the quality. Needless to say, they're elated. This model is the one that is actually buried in the ground. It isn't attached to a plate. Only downside there is if we ever move, the hoop stays here. I followed the directions exactly how they were written and absolutely no problems whatsoever. Very good directions and easy to read and understand. The bolts are wrapped and coded to match the directions. That was awesome. The hardest part was putting the backboard on but my sons and I muscled through it. If you can get two bolts in the backboard, you got it licked. We three did the project all ourselves and it turned out perfect. I definitely would have a third set of hands there for the backboard install. Definitely two thumbs up! July 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Product....so far. Purchased the Goaliath 54" In-Ground Basketball Hoop with Pole Pad for $499. Had some issues going to my local store to have it shipped to the store instead of my home so that I didn't have to pay for shipping. I worked that out and received the goal. In my rocky, red clay/dirt it was very hard to dig the hole. I used an auger to assist in the digging. I ended up using 600 lbs of Quikrete. I even used four two foot bars of rebar in the concrete. Instructions do not call for that, but thought it might help. Once I got the hole dug and pole installed, installation was a breeze. The goal is really stable with very little shake/wobble. The goal looks really good and seems to be of great quality. Hopefully it will hold up in the Alabama heat/weather. 2 people installed the pole 3 people installed the backboard 2 people installed the rim 1 person did everything else The goal has only been installed and usable for 4 days, so we'll see how well it stands up to play and weather, but so far I love it. Rated 5 out of 5 by five stars!!! I had online order and store pick-up by myself, it is good to be two pieces and fitted into my minivan. Followed the installation manual exactly and it needed 3 men to have the temper glass board installed. It is very solid hoop system, not only for the kids, I love it as the intermedia level in-door basketball club player. June 8, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very nice - Straight-forward install and working fine I bought the one with J hooks anchored into the concrete - then bolt post to them. Installation made sense and went smoothly. Took me five or six bangs with posts on cardboard to get the two post sections joined. Leveling with nuts on anchor bolts was straight-forward and I can adjust later if needed. Backboard very heavy. We actually had four adults in the bed of my pickup getting it hung - three holding and one putting bolts in. That took a short time and I recommend backing a truck next to post for this step as it is safer and easier than multiple ladders, etc. Also, set height from tailgate of truck just for stability. Really nice feel to the backboard and minimal movement when you hit the rim. Adjustment is easy and I really like that I can remove the crank so someone cannot just randomly walk up and change it as was possible with the system I replaced with this one. Thanks June 4, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very hard to assemble This goal is very hard to assemble unlike the other goaliath goals where it can be anchored to the ground, this goal must have the pole stuck in the ground. This goal has to be stood up completey straight for 3 days while the concrete drys and if the goal is the slightest bit slanted than it can not be reversed. I would reds one playing more to get the goal that is anchored to the ground so it can be moved and is also much easier to assemble May 25, 2015
