Rated 3 out of 5 by Willll Good insulating layer Marmot Apollo: The first thing I should mention is this jacket is very light and very thin, which makes it great for insulation, but not so great for an outer layer. The outside skin is not durable enough for an outer layer and will NOT protect you from the elements, so you will definitely need a shell over it in most cases. (I noticed a review of a different jacket on this site, so read carefully) As an insulating layer, it works well. It is clearly advertised as 700 fill, so don't expect 800 fill performance and you won't be disappointed. It's extremely light and comfortable. I snowboard and hike in Colorado, & it kept me warm, with base layers and a shell, without being too bulky in zero degree temps. The Steel color is awesome; more like silver, so it goes well with just about anything. I bought it on the 40% off sale, and at $100 it's a reasonable value. Full price would be a bit much, IMO. Rated 4 out of 5 by mcneelb Good fit and well made but not as insulating as indicated in the description Overall a good jacket. Fits well, true sizing and seems well made. It also is light weight which is great benefit. However, I bought the jacket for extreme cold which is what was listed in the description. I noticed when in the single digits or even 20's it's not all that warm. Or at least not as I would expected. March 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by gpasek Great Jacket and Style Just ordered online here in Naperville, IL and had to go to store and pick up. Once I got there I wanted to see the fit between a Large and X-Large. The large was a litle tight in chest and shoulders, so I went with the XL. I am 5'11 and 215 lbs. Overall very nice fit and warm, as it is in the 20's today. I would definitely recommend. Rated 5 out of 5 by Bucko Great product! This jacket is every bit as good as the advertisements claim. It is quite comfortable while wearing it over a wool sport shirt, even with our current temperatures hovering around zero degrees F. February 19, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sherpa A Very Nice Jacket I wanted a lightweight down sweater to take on backpacking trips. I was looking at three jackets: this Marmont, the REI Co-op, and the Patagonia. Both the Co-op and the Patagonia are lighter in weight than this one. The Co-op had less down fil, the Patagonia had more down fil. The Co-op was the cheapest of the three. The Patagonia was the most expensive. Therefore, this Marmont was sort of the middle of the road. I decided to go with the Marmont for two reasons. First, I really loved the rust colored jacket. It wasn't as bright or flashy as the other two of similar colors. And second, when I put my hands in the pockets of Marmont I found tiny draw string cords that allow me to tightened up the bottom of the jacket by pulling on them. This is a lightweight jacket. However, it is not an ultra lightweight jacket. It weighs in at exactly 16 oz. The other two are slightly lighter. But, as I said, I prefered the color of this one, and it had more down insulation than the Co-op. I've taken it on a backpacking trip. It served me nicely into temps at around 30-40 degrees. You can't take the jacket much below that without other layers. However, if you added multiple layers, this jacket would serve nicely at lower temps. I've lost a few down feathers. That it is to be expected. All down jackets will lose a few. However, keep an eye on your seams. If they start to tear you will need to have it repaired. Also, this jacket is light enough to tear, so be careful where you wear it. If you're looking for a nice down sweater for the Spring and Fall, or something to add to your winter layers, this sweater may be right for you! December 10, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by TPO Marmot Apollo Jacket I looked at a lot of down jackets before buying this one.....North Face, Patagonia, Columbia, etc. This jacket stood out by far on the warmth factor while still being stylish. I have had this jacket about 2 weeks and wore it during a cold spell with temps around zero. While not perfectly warm at that temp, I was close to being ok. If I had been wearing some form of shell that would have been all I needed. I highly suggest this coat for the money. I paid around $125 on sale at Dick's. December 14, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bossman Warm & light weight Was looking for a light weight jacket that would provide warmth for the cold seasons and light enough to wear in the fall. This jacket meets all my expectations, except for not having a hood and being waterproof. Other than that, its a great purchase! February 10, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by RPad118 Picture is deceiving We purchased this jacket online because of the price. It seemed like a good deal for what I was looking at and the description given. When we received the package it came in a very small bag. I was confused given the picture online seemed to make it look a lot thicker. The material was very thin and we live in Chicago, so I was concerned that for the price it was not going to keep my husband warm. He said as long as he had a sweater underneath he was, so if you are looking to just wear a coat in weather such as Chicago's this might not protect you from the bitter cold as the description implies. Other than that if my husband is satisfied, then I am satisfied. January 21, 2015
