Rated 5 out of 5 by Michigan Appleseeder Nice scope
I use this with a 10/22 at Project Appleseed shoots and it is ideal. The optics are very clear. Fixed 4x is a good choice--over magnification can cause shooters to fuss their shots rather than trusting their natural point of aim. (Wish I could still use iron sights but my eyes won't hold up their end anymore.)
One point--these scopes are NOT 1/4 MOA per click. They are 1/4" per click at 50 yards, which is 1/2 MOA. To me, for field shooting this is not a big deal; absolute worst case, you are 1/2 click off your point of aim. Someday I hope to be a good enough shooter to be annoyed by that 1/16" at 25y, 1/8" at 50y, or 1/4" at 100y, and then I'll buy a scope that costs several times as much to get this clarity and the finer adjustment.
With medium height rings on a a Weaver rail I did not have to remove the rear sight. A little pipe insulation and vet wrap and I was in business.

Rated 5 out of 5 by len917 Great scope-Great price
Was looking to buy this scope and while surfing thru Dick's on-line, I found it at $60.00 off
so I bought it. Easy to mount and adjust and is extremely accurate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Luke typical Nikon quality
Quite a few places reported out of stock on this scope. The scope exhibits excellent optics. The price was a little higher than out of stock discount locations and sales tax was charged,, but no shipping costs. Scope was mounted on a 10/22 - Warne two piece bases and Weaver low rings top with detach. Had to remove rear sight for scope to clear, but okay as allowed the scope to mount low.. Be careful to get the elevation adjustment on top and windage on right. This may interfere with ejection and bolt hold open.

Rated 5 out of 5 by skygzr works great....WAY better than the $50 cheapies
As so many have said before me, you get what you pay for. Sometimes cheap is good enough, and sometimes cheap is just cheap. I had a $50 4x scope that was a real pain to use. The optics weren't very good; everything had chromatic fringing around it. Lens fans take note: the cheapie DID have an achromatic objective, just not a very good one. Not all achromats are created equal.
Nikon knows a thing or two about optics. Whether they make them or just source them they're pretty good. Nice eye relief and so far it stays where I put it. Highly recommended. If it broke I'd buy a new one.
