Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice jacket This jacket is a great investment. Shell and fleece liner can be worn separate or together, look great. Fleece jacket is warm and attractive, but sheds a little more than I would like. Pockets are nicely sized and plentiful. September 25, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Awsome coat I would have given this coat 5 stars however the inner lining sheds a lot and gets on my clothes every time I wear it. The coat itself is great, keeps me very warm, but not too warm, I can wear it in cool and cold weather. The style is cool and the cut of the jacket has a very flattering fit. I have the grey/off-white/red, coat. Love the colors. The length of the arms are actually perfect, much to my surprise. The jacket is very comfortable, I have wider hips and yet it isn't tight like most jackets are around the hips. Maybe next time don't put the fuzzy inner lining in, because it sheds a lot and have to take it out if I want to keep my clothes clean, but then it takes some warmth away. Overall, great coat and even though its a bit pricey, its worth the money. (I have a hard time spending a lot on clothes but this time was worth it) October 20, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by About what I expected. Received this jacket as a surprise Christmas gift. Does the trick, kept me warm in -20 degree weather. Just a couple thoughts though: the jacket is not very roomy/spacious through the hip area, also wish it had the "double zipper" that could be opened from top OR bottom, liner was nice, but when you push your arms through, the liner arms go out way beyond the outer shell and have to be pushed back in and finally, and I know this is really picky, people will hear you coming . . . the "crinkling" noise from the coat fabric is, well, loud. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Great jacket worn together or apart, but I recommend sizing up. My northface denali fleece is a small and I have enough room for a sweatshirt under it... in this jacket i needed a medium and i kinda wish i would have gotten a large to have extra room. Also, i bought this on sale... I was not willing to pay full price for this. November 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it! I was able to buy this jacket during the 40% off end of winter clearance sale...I had to call several stores but it was definitely worth it! The 3-in-1 style is a great deal for your money, two jackets that you can wear in a variety of weather conditions. The inner layer is incredibly soft and warm, and the outer layer is great in the rain, wind, snow, etc. Put them together and it has served me well so far this winter. Definitely a wardrobe staple as a college student trudging along to all my classes on campus as well as for shoveling snow. Some minor pet peeves/possible detractions: - Inner lining sheds ALOT! Had to wash it to get rid of all the fuzzies - I got a small (normally would prefer a medium...but a small was all that was left) and it is perfectly sized. Meaning, its a bit too stuffy to wear a large sweatshirt or multiple bulky layers underneath. For reference, I am 5'5" and 125 pounds and when I wore a tank, tee shirt, and hoodie sweatshirt, I had to change into a smaller sweater because it was uncomfortable in the arm pit region. -Outer lining makes a loud crinkle noise - at first it was annoying but now I kind of like the sound :) -The detachable hood is a bit on the small side - I have to put my hair in a side ponytail so that it can cover my forehead (I have really long hair though) Side note - I had wonderful customer service through each stage of buying this jacket. From the different stores I called, to the store who put my jacket on hold and shipped it to one closer to where I lived, as well as the actual store I went to pick my jacket up...every sales associate I talked to was courteous, professional, and extremely helpful. Rated 4 out of 5 by So warm! First, lemme get the Bad outta the way -- it catches lint very easily and the outer shell makes a crinkling sound that can get annoying. However, this was bought just to keep me warm in this Wisconsin winter so.... The Good - It's very warm. My inner fleece does not shed as other reviews indicate. I had have no issues with size either. It's a good fit and even in -20 degrees, I was warm as ever. I would recommend it to friends because it's a great coat :) February 17, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not for me Jacket was a bit heavy, I wanted something warm and lightweight. The minute I removed it from the bag after I received it it had lots of lint attached to it. The interior layer seemed very shaggy and of poor quality. I also did not like the fact that it was a bit stiff, perhaps it can be broken in. I returned it. February 9, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Crinkly and lint magnet I like the coat. its warm and comfortable. There are two miner flaws. It makes a crinkly sound as you move around in it. I'm hoping it's because it's new. The second thing is you might want to keep a lint brush handy. The black coat attracts lint and it's very noticeable. February 7, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by SHEDS I have been very disappointed in this jacket. I spent $260.00. The inner jacket has not stopped shedding. It is is every where. I have shaken it out many times it is stuck to the liner of the shell every time I put it on black fluff comes out of the jacket. It is all over my house. I will not purchase a north face again. I contacted Dicks they said I could return it but they don't have another one my size in stock. This was my first north face thinking this was high quality reputable brand. Wow was I wrong. Rated 1 out of 5 by Not warm This coat was not warm at all and attracted dirt horribly. I returned it. Also I'm very tall and lanky but the sleeves were a bit short. February 12, 2014
