Rated 4 out of 5 by larry1 good all around waterproof-breathable shell. poor closure hardware. needs snaps and double zipper
great price for nice functional jacket. two sons loved them also. will have to get metal snaps put in to keep jacket closed without zipping. even 6'5 in son could wear one o.k.

Bought this to replace/supplement a GoreTex raincoat. Works flawlessly. The material is so much softer than the old shell - doesn't sound like wrapping paper when you move. I've had Mountain Hardwear products before and this jacket lives up to their quality.

I like Mountain Hardwear products and I own this MH Snowzilla II Shell Jacket. This MSRP is a bit high so if you can find this at a discount...jump on it. Dick's is having their end of season sale and this jacket is 40% off which is well worth it IMHO. Today is 2/7/14 in the event someone is reading this soon and wants to take advantage.
The other review on this product clearly does not understand what a "shell" is since his entire review was bashing the level of insulation on this product. This is a great "shell jacket" and will keep you insulated based on the layers you wear under the jacket. Additionally, if you need ventilation, the jacket has vents built in.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Staticnuts Not an Insulated Winter Jacket.
This jacket was on my list of possibly heavy winter jackets to buy at Dick's until I tried one on at my local store. IT HAS NO INSULATION AT ALL!!!
This jacket is nothing more than a thick and heavy waterproof windbreaker. Sure, it has many features and pockets, but it doesn't have any insulation. None of the Snowzilla jackets on the rack had any insulation. I was disappointed with this jacket.
