Rated 5 out of 5áby thevoice454 Next level I started out with a few in expensive rod and reel combos from another discount chain, they where adequate and really helped me understand the joy of fishing, which encouraged me to purchase this rod and reel, more expensive... Yes! But when I used it the quality was obviousl, I lost a big fish on the other tackle, when I couldn't land it on a pier, caught a bigger fish yesterday with this set up and easily land him... Smooth reel strong flexable rod, and added confidence. The quality and attention to detail on this product are next level!!! I can't wait to purchase my next Okuma product. August 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Steele Great Surf Rod I've used this surf combo extensively for two years now. Probably fished it at least once a week on average. First, the reel: it has a good 2 drag system, one for light drag and then the main to put on the heat. It's made of good quality if you take care of it (rinse always with fresh water). The handle is of dissimilar metal than the crank so over time some corrosion happens, but if you keep it oiled it's good. Second, the rod: It's stout, has plenty of back to haul in shark, and the cork grip gives it a pro status. It is a bit too stiff at the tip at times, making the smaller fish less noticeable but overall length and quality is great considering. I would recommend it for sure. Hope they keep selling hem. Rated 1 out of 5áby Stush Product was defective The pole broke in half on its first cast. I returned it to the store in Warwick RI They didn't have the same pole so I agreed to take a larger one. That pole I used today and discovered ,after again on the first cast,my line broke and lost my popper. Reason! The tip is broken! June 3, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5áby bassman Perfect for the price. Bought in Aug 2015, caught 17 stripers 22-28 inches 3 at 30-36 inches--rod and reel worked perfectly. Good action on the cast, nice feel on the striper hit. I plan to add 3 more to my collection for myself and friends. December 15, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby PIOBill Okuma Combos Performed Well Put it to the test for a week on Hatteras Point, OBX. Passed with flying colors. That's why I purchased three combos. Great for Red Drum fishing! October 27, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5áby Karvlord Nice reel, terrible rod This is a classic example of making a decent product (reel) and combing it with a piece of garbage (rod). The first striper I hooked the rod snapped 4" above the 2-piece section. Granted the fish was a 38" striper, but I was fishing with 15 lb fluorocarbon. The line should have snapped before the rod. Good thing I had the drag set right. I plan on returning it at my earliest conviience. The reason I bought it was because of the reel's bait runner option, which was nice and I was going to be using live mackerel for bait. If you buy this combo throw the rod away, or better yet, just leave the rod at the store. October 13, 2015
