After one year We have this machine and have used it daily for over a year now. For the price I think it is a quality piece of equipment. I weighed over 300 lbs when I started using this machine and it has held up well. Take your time assembling it. And don't over tighten bolts. October 29, 2014
Horrible experience with repairs and service. We are now waiting for our 4th repair on this machine, purchased in mid August. Since paying $75 for "professional" assembly we've been able to use the machine for about 30 minutes total without something else going wrong. I would not recommend this product. October 10, 2014
oversized pedals and large digital numbers I enjoy my new preform elliptical trainer. It is easy on my knees and very easy to work. I like the idea of it being a bike as well so when my legs get tired of walking I can sit and work out a bit longer without exhausting myself. March 16, 2014
No instructions We didn't get any instructions in the box and no receipt, tried downloading instructions off the internet but they are not accurate. Disappointed! December 14, 2013
Quality trainor This elliptical trainor is a fine quality item for the price. Works just like the one I had in the Rehab facility for my knee. I'm determined to get my knee working better, so I'm glad I bought this. September 24, 2013
Great Idea, Poor Execution Once again ICON Health and Fitness, the owners of ProForm, had a great idea but messed it up in execution. The idea of a recumbent bike and an elliptical in one unit is great. Putting the machine together was simple enough; the directions were clear and it wasn't terribly technical. The problem came once it was put together and we started to use it. The spacing in the Pedal Leg and Arm connections to the axle was not taken care of adequtely with the hardware that came with the unit so I had to call and wait for additional spacers, wave washers, etc. to arrive so I could get rid of the squeaking and the clunking that the lack of spacers causes. Once that was done it was evident that a# a bearing on the right side had come lose and needed to be replaced, b)the screws in the seat and c) in the conslole were stripped and needed to be replaced, and I knew once that was done it would effect the spacing on the axle again. This time when I called I requested a tech along wih the parts; I wasn't about to take the back part of it apart and fiddle around. They argued with me about the tech, although their own warranty provides for one. Also the decalls that tell you where to set the foot pedals for the elliptical and where to set them for the bike began to lift off the pedal leg because they weren't placed and secured properly to begin with and when I told them these needed to be replaced they told me they "couldn't". Their excuse was that they print them out for new machines but "can not" print them out for ones that weren't new. I pointed out these decalls aren't decorative; they serve a function and they told me if they were "that important to me" to "return the machine to the retailer it was purchased from and exchange it for another one." First of all, retailers don't have time for this nonsense, nor do I and I certainly don't have time to put another machine together because I had to return the original one. I finally asked to speak with their call center manager as the line supervisor was clearly reading from a script and had no problem solving skills. He assured me I would receive a phone call; I'm still waiting a week later. The machine does work and it has the potential to be a great piece of exercise equipment. The problem is once you take it home you have to work with ICON directly rather than the retailer and ICON is not going to take care of customers. If I had it to do again I'd buy a bike and an elliptical from someone other than ICON #who also owns NordicTrack, Reebok, Golds Gym, Epic, and a few others#, absorb the cost of having two machines instead of one and watch my blood pressure NOT go insane!
