Rated 1 out of 5 by w500 This product is very poorly made and not quality inspected The shade canopy is a bit heavy but it's very easy to set up and works well in windy conditions. However, the quality is extremely disappointing. The first canopy we purchased had a hole in the top where the stitching had come loose around the frame. It was a very obvious defect that somehow passed quality inspection?? We couldn't believe it left the factory like this! We exchanged the canopy for a new one which had 3 cracked bolt covers that we discovered once we got it home. Went through an ordeal with customer service to have the replacement parts shipped to us. We then purchased another shade canopy which one of the metal legs is severely bent (right out of the box) and we also noticed several small pin holes in the canopy. We will be surprised if we get a handful of uses out of these canopies before they're completely falling apart. Quick Shade needs to work on their quality and their inspections. We shouldn't have to lug a 74 lb. brand new shade canopy back and forth to the store because of problems. September 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by diverreb Second Added Comment OK.. It's February 21st 2015. We have had an extremely cold and windy winter so far, with a good deal of snow. I was thinking about taking the canopy down in the fall but never got around to it. I do a lot of Smoking and BBQ and use the Canopy as protection against rain when I'm cooking. Well this canopy has withstood everything Mother Nature has thrown at it. Snow on the top, sustained winds of 40 MPH with gusts over 55 on numerous occasions..... And I'm talking about for 24 hour periods! I was sure it was going to be in shreds.... Not a rip or tear. Hat's off to Quick Shade. I am truly impressed! February 21, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Rabidsquirrel Above average quality Above average quality and fairly easy to set up when you have more than two people. The pins that hold the pole for the side awnings had to be carefully bent to allow the pole to be inserted. Other than the plastic releases on the legs I'm happy with this canopy. June 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by BlueCollarRacing The best canopy we've owned yet This canopy is extremely easy to set up and withstands the wind like no other. The adjustability of the side "wings" allows us to stay in the shade no matter where the sun is in the sky. I would recommend this canopy to anyone. April 22, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Sweaty on the Beach Not Made For Windy Conditions Great canopy--until the wind blows. The metal frame lacks enough strength and will not hold up in 10 MPH winds. The failure points are where holes have been punched in the metal, weakening the frame, spoiling an otherwise nice canopy. June 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Carol R Not so quick the 1st time. We bought this to extend our canopy area on our camper for a long camping trip. The Quick Shade is very well made with rugged construction. With that being said, we had problems deploying it the first time. It just didn't seem to open up enough and we struggled with getting the upper part of the legs to snap in near the ceiling. We deployed it several times, read the directions over and over and looked at the poorly detailed pictures in the directions. We even YouTubed the company videos. I am a very mechanically inclined person and my husband is the muscles so together we struggled. We did do some damage to the wall support on one side from pulling it so much but it's still intact, just a bit bent. Eventually, we were able to set it up and we really liked the shade and cover it provided. Take down was a breeze drop the legs and walk it in. It is very heavy and not the type of thing you would want to lug around every day to the kid's baseball games. It's much more appropriate for a few day long camping trip. The stakes are kind of small and cheap and the zipper pull on the outer part of the bag just came off in my hand rendering the pocket useless. I am happy with it, however, it was expensive as compared to others and a bit of a hassle. August 26, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Big Daddy Nothing Quick About It! Over the years I have owned different canopy systems and have been satisfied with their performance for the price paid. My rationale with the Quick Shade Summit SX170 was its claim for easy set up, canopy venting system and of course the amount of shade provided. As this was a bit higher priced than your typical canopy I was hoping that the advertised claims were true and accurate. What I found was that the canopy venting had its merit once you figured how the canopy was to be set on the frame ( enclosed instructions in three different languages did not discuss this ) and the shade provided was as advertised. What I found to our dislike was how difficult it was set up. The instructions show two people setting up the SX170. We had three adults at odds with this product and "easy set up" had nothing to do with their claim. I have also found that the stitching to one of the side awnings is already unraveling. As I have already mentioned, this is not my first rodeo when it comes to canopy systems. My intention is to return this product as soon as possible. I know there is better canopy systems out there as this not one of them. May 17, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by DrFunkenstein extra shade is great I've used this shade for two full travel lacrosse seasons and it has held up fine. Once you figure out the setup, its not difficult for two though one person would be a chore. The biggest pro are the adjustable awnings that can be put up for extra sun shade or down for extra rain coverage. Biggest con is the weight- it is difficult to roll and/or carry without a cart or dolly (I use my rolling cooler). Note: with the awnings up, the area is 10x17, not 17x17. July 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Diverreb Adding to a previous comment.... Had this product up on my deck since early September. Through heat, sun, heavy rain, and heavy winds and cold temps. It is secured by bungee cords. This is one solid well built canopy. It has exceeded all my expectations as far as durability is concerned. Only feature I would like to see is a way to close the top vents with a pull string of some sort. When it is really windy they blow open and you need a step ladder to manually close them. Rated 4 out of 5 by Mr. CKS great shade I have two of these, they look good and hold up well. The vented top helps when there are wind gust, to allow the air to move thru and not turn it into a kite. The only bad part is the bag, it does not hold up at all. September 22, 2014
