SOLE E20 Elliptical 4.2 5 55 55
Sole Machine is Garbage Just purchased this machine three weeks ago broke down in 4 uses took 10 days for service to come fix it 4 uses later wont stay on track don't buy this machine if you plan on using it more than 1 or 2 times per year December 17, 2014
Solid Materials are very good. Qualityconstruction. We came very familiar with the materials as the work required to unpack and set up was challenging. Nevertheless, once puy together functionality was true to the advertising. Electronics are adequate, it fulfills everything that you need including heart rate monitoring. i'm very satisfied with the product. December 15, 2014
Exactly what we were looking for. We looked at several ellipticals and chose Sole E20 for it's programability and incline features. it fits nicely in our TV room and was fairly easy to put together. December 14, 2014
Poor Design, two machines failed I have purchased and had professionally assembled two SOLE E20s. The first one began failing after about four months of use and failed almost completely (worn bushings) after about six months. The second failed within 10 days. Both DICK'S and Sole customer service were fantastic in handling the issues. The bushings are a known manufacturing defect according to SOLE. Both machines had failing bushings (shavings around machine). The second also repeatedly came off the track. Anyone that must use a zero impact machine for medical reasons DOES NOT want the sudden stoppage of the roller coming off the track. The bushings have been redesigned, but you never know when you buy if the machine has the re-designed bushings in it. Both of mine had the old bushings and both failed fairly quickly. Too risky to try another SOLE product. I have to say again though that both SOLE and DICK'S customer service are top notch. December 4, 2014
Jimmy and Todd helped me out! I purchased this one in store at HAYDEN MEADOWS SQUARE Portland. Unfortunately, my sedan was not spacious enough to squeeze the box in, even with both back seats folded. Jimmy and Todd helped cut the box open and moved the equipment piece by piece. Thank you so much for your sweat and effort! September 2, 2014
Plastic bushings are trash! The plastic bushings are unbelievably weak they snap off with frequent use. The company must not expect you to use it daily. It would work well as a coat rack. Which is what it is when you are waiting for parts. I have had to replace the bushings 4 times in the first year! August 19, 2014
Not Pleased I purchased this machine 6 days ago. I should have known when the three models in the showroom could not be used due to the track on the left side falling off. I asked sales associate if that was a common problem and he said that he has never had a complaint or return on one of these elliptical. The machine performed better than anything I have used before the first time I used it. The next time it started squeaking on the left side. As of last night I can go maybe 30 seconds before the pedal falls off the track. Talk about an injury waiting to happen when you do not expect that. So today I visited 4 store locations and found every E20 and E25 to have the left pedal busted and unable to use. I guess that is a common problem. Sad to say that I could only get 5 hours out of this thing. I will be returning tomorrow! Just some advice... If a product cant make it through the warranty period and starts acting up right away return it or you will have more down time and headaches continuously fixing it. August 7, 2014
Dissapointed in quality Initially I was happy with the machine but after about a month the left roller began to squeak. I oiled the shaft but it just got worse and then it began to feel like you stepped into a hole as it made a clunking sound. I contacted Sole and they sent me two replacement rollers and had the tech come out to replace and check it out. Again it was fine for a few weeks and the same problem began again so I replaced the roller with the other they had supplied. Yesterday it was making the clunking sound and it jumped the track twice so it's not safe to use. Also the pulse monitor has failed to function. Based on other reviews it looks to me like it just depends on which one you get as to whether it's any good or not. I'm contacting Sole again today to request a real fix, replacement or refund. I'd be careful if you buy one and if you start to have trouble get it replaced. May 29, 2014
great purchase / product for the money shorter stride length is not an issue - easy to adapt. not too big/bulky, and not too small. well made - solid. great features - the ones that really matter! May 28, 2014
Easy to Assemble, Quiet, Good for Small Spaces The Sole E20 was easy to assemble. It took me about two hours. If I'd had someone helping me, it probably would have taken an hour. The kit comes with all of the tools you need, and the screws/bolts are separated in individual pockets with "Step 1", "Step 2", etc labels. That was really smart! The manual is a bit hard to read, but it's not impossible. Don't let the diagrams freak you out. The numbers are labels for the screws and parts, not steps. There are some good YouTube videos available if you need help, and you can call Sole to send a technician out if certain areas give you trouble. Tip - get a magnetic screwdriver. One of the last steps involves putting tiny screws down long passages; this is very tricky with the screwdriver they give you and was part of the reason it took so long to assemble. We have an apartment, and the elliptical is designed so well that it fits in our bedroom. I wasn't sure about a front wheel design, but now I'm hooked. It keeps it compact. This is a great elliptical for apartment and condo owners. I can easily move it from room to room. It weighs about 180 pounds, but it has a handle and wheels so you can push it around. Tall guys, beware. The pedals sit up pretty high, so if you're over six feet tall and have eight-foot ceilings, you're going to come close. Make sure you avoid light fixtures; otherwise, you WILL hit your head. I'm 5'6", and I still feel like I'm up pretty high. The display has a jack for your mp3 player/phone so you can play music through the speakers. Sole includes a cord, so you don't need to buy one. I thought that was pretty awesome. They also give you a water bottle, which fits in the cubby built into the display. It doesn't fit perfectly, and I always think it's going to fall out, but it hasn't yet. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. This is a sturdy elliptical that will last for years. May 14, 2014
