Cosmetic defects - but sturdy and good value in the end The parts that are not cosmetic are sturdy and function well, but....... I bought the product a few weeks ago. The assembly was easy. Little did I know, though, that when taking the top of the box off, what turned out to be a plastic end-cap sitting on top of the tread belt would be a bad omen. As it turned out, only the broken-off top of the left end-cap was on the belt, the rest of the cap being screwed into the rear of the machine?s frame. The next discovery..... The plastic top motor compartment cover was not supposed to be loose, but was only loose because it, along with the plastic bottom cover underneath the motor were cracked, and brackets for screws to hold the top cover in place were twisted out of alignment. The screws that were supposed to have been tightened to hold the top cover never were, because the brackets receiving them were out of alignment, and some of the plastic cover was broken off. I could understand that a machine might get damaged in transit because of rough handling, but the only explanation for the situation with the top and bottom plastic pieces covering the motor compartment was that the parts were knowingly packed in a defective condition. And yet another discovery...... There was a little hole in the right side of the plastic console, which, on closer inspection, revealed that the plastic console was cracked on both the left and right side, at the spot where a plastic stud protrudes on the underside to hold the screw that affixes the plastic to the metal console frame. Customer service was great. I called to report the problems and emailed photos of the damaged parts. The representatives said they would ship replacement parts right away. They also asked if I would like to have a technician make the repairs, but I declined because replacing the parts seemed easy enough, and I did not want to delay in getting the job done. Because of what I would later learn, and consistent with other customer posts on this review site, as in one comment about also getting shipped a defective replacement console, only to call for yet another replacement, I get the impression that the warranty / replacement part department is used to dealing with the same issues on a frequent basis. Ahhhh, two boxes of parts arrived last night - with a left rear end-cap, top and bottom motor compartment covers, and a console. Unfortunately, on taking the bubble-wrap off the console, I discovered that it, too, was cracked, in the same spot on the right side as the original console. Why would Sole ship a broken console in replacement of another broken console? The eureka moment!!! - Both boxes of new parts were labeled ?Made In China,? and that was the label on the original plastic motor compartment cover. I am guessing that everything is put together and boxed in China, and the only time anything comes out of the box is when a customer opens it. That must be why Sole would ship product with broken parts and defective assembly. What other reason could there be? So replacement parts that are shipped from a US warehouse must be in unopened boxes from China that are just shipped out, without anyone in the US knowing whether the parts in the boxes are also broken - perhaps the same as the boxes of new treadmills that get shipped to Dick?s. When I called customer support because of the broken replacement console, I was first told that it must not have been packed well and was damaged in transit. But the console was very well packed, with so much bubble wrap it couldn?t have been damaged in transit. When I said that I didn?t think packing was the problem, but the cracks in the plastic appear to be endemic because they occur in the same location, I was then told that this is a known problem that the company is addressing with the manufacturer. Just saying...... For broken or incompletely assembled parts to knowingly be packed, only to be opened by customers that are supposed to be buying a quality product - It seems to me there is a management issue in failing to have a proper quality control process in place at the point of manufacture. I don?t know what needs to be done to ensure quality control with the manufacturer in China. I assume, however, that good management would have suitable quality controls in place so that there is a slim to none defect rate in shipped product. I would also think that good management would have noticed the quality control issue on product being shipped from China and have done something to address it , so, among other things, the company can have a stellar reputation and customer reviews on sites like this are all four and five stars and not the too frequent posts about defective product. Apple might be an example of quality control on product manufactured in China. Its products are manufactured there too, and it appears to have controls in place to ensure that its product and the packaging arriving in the customer?s hands with the highest quality and a slim to none defect rate. Lastly, I must also say that once I get a defect-free console, I will have a quality, sturdy treadmill that, aside from my time in replacing the broken cosmetic parts, will be a very good value. I am also probably lucky to be handy in being able to replace defective parts myself and not needing to deal with appointments with technicians. January 30, 2015

May be too early to review... I have owned my treadmill several days. I am still learning about various features. One mystery...I hear a "chirping" sound while walking on the treadmill. I mentioned this to the person while he was completing the assembly. He felt it was part of the warm up process. However, it is still happening. It does not affect the operation of the treadmill. However, I know it should not be happening. Help? January 26, 2015
Good Product I recently purchased the F60 Treadmill the first of January. This is my 2nd treadmill that I purchased. I like this product for price and size. The performance is pretty good, however it makes stange noises for some reason. But over all, the month that I have been using it, I am pleased & would recommend it. January 26, 2015
Sole F60 I have only had this product for 2 weeks but so far I am happy with it. That being said we purchased this product as it had a weight limit of 300lbs, however my husband is not able to use it even though he is under this weight requirement. The belt and wheels begin to slip and the tread stops moving whenever he tries to run. If I had known I was going to be the only one who could use it I probably would have gone with another model to accommodate my husband, but I am happy with it thus far. January 24, 2015
Heart rate monitor stopped working after first use It took about a month to deliver and setup. After couple of days and using once, heart rate monitor stopped working. So i called the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement console. Turns out the connector that connect console to the frame was different that mine. So i called again, they sent me the correct one and it was all damaged upon arrival. Now i am waiting for the third console with the correct connector. January 23, 2015
After waiting 12 days, was disappointed Dicks sporting goods is 1.3 miles from my house. I paid to have machine delivered and set up. It was in stock, but took 12 days to get a delivery date. It finally came on the 20th of this month. However I could not use it because the motherboard was broken. They tell me it is faster to have another entire unit delivered than to just change motherboards. So now I have to wait another week to ten days for them to remove the broken one (still in my basement) and bring another new one, that will hopefully work. January 21, 2015
Good product Been running on this treadmill for about 2 weeks now. Compares to any gym treadmill out there. But is nothing special. Mainly like it because it keeps me motivated to run to have a treadmill at home. January 21, 2015
