Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for spinning reels I get the most distance on every cast with this line. August 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by NanoFil knot Try a Uni-knot when attaching a leader to NanoFil and see if it will work for you. I've been using it with the 8lb line and have yet to have a knot fail or slip. I use six turns for each segment. May 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great line spinning reel only Great line spinning reel only 10 lb test last forever, use green won't need a leader line. Use white will need add leader. Gotta practice your knots, that's only drawback takes special knots, nanofil is so slick takes special knots to keep it from slipping. Wet line before drawing knot tight. Great stuff no more spinning reel line twists . Jerry April 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing line! I have this spooled on my worm rod as well as my tube rod. This line has no memory and casts further with no effort than any other line I have ever used in my 30+ years of being a die hard fisherman. The downside is you need to learn how to tie a double palomar knot. I've not found another knot that will work. This line is so slick standard knots simply pull apart. The strength to diameter blows braid out of the water. The other downside is the price, but this line seems to be indestructible and I can not see any reason why one couldn't get a number of seasons out of this line. June 24, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Amazingly strong, cast-able line. I've been using NanoFil for a few seasons now, and for certain situations it is unbeatable. I do a lot of light jigging on the Susquehanna River near Pittston (Relatively strong current, jagged bottom) and I can feel light hits with this line I'd otherwise never feel. I use mid to high end rods and the difference this line makes regarding sensitivity is almost unbelievable, until you try it for yourselves! I also use this on my finesse worm rod (I throw a lot of weightless worms, like the Zoom trick Worm) mainly on lakes and with this line you will feel the slightest is almost as if you could feel the bass "breathing" on your worm. I only use this on spinning reels. Using this line will easily add 10-25% more distance to your lure on the cast. The other added benefit is this line seems to be ultra abrasion resistant and incredibly strong. I've yet to have this line break on me with a fish on the other end, and I catch my fair share of toothy Walleye down the river. The few downsides to this line are A) The is hard to justify spending $20.00 for a little over 100 yards of line. To date it has proven to be worth every cent of that as it has yet to deteriorate at all and performs exactly as it did when I 1st spooled it up. B) KNOTS!!! If you do not tie the perfect double Palomar knot, your knot will not hold up, period! I've pretty much perfected this knot, but often will have to re-tie it a few times to get it "perfect", and even then I apply a dab of super glue. I've yet to figure out any knot that will allow you to join this to a fluorocarbon leader without using a swivel, as it will simply cut the leader once put under any kind of stress. I fish in a small bass club, and the majority of the guys I fish with can not tie a good enough knot for this line to be of any value to them....wouldn't matter any to me, but they seek me out to tie their knots as I've yet to have a properly tied knot fail with this line...the key word being properly. The double Palomar is not the easiest knot to tie, and if you fail to lubricate the line (either wet it with your mouth or spray line conditioner on it) prior to tightening it, it will fail. All in all I recommend this line if you're into finesse fishing..the casting distance, lack of stretch and sensitivity is better than braid...just be sure to practice your knot tying, and put your freshly tied knots through rigorous testing prior to tying on pricey lures. My last word of advice is to be sure to buy the green colored line..... the white line seems to stand out vividly in the water...on the two rods I have with the white NanoFil I blackened the last 12-15 feet of it with a black Sharpie, and I seemed to get more hits & fish afterwards using the same exact lures.
