Rated 5 out of 5 by cinch had our pelican for years We bought our pelican several years ago. We have taken it out probably 10-15 times in various places. Our middle seat has storage, which is great. We find it very easy to load and have never had a problem. October 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Scoutmaster22 This product is well worth the price We bought a couple of these years ago for our scout troop and they have given and still are giving us plenty of fun on the water very light weight and can be carried on a pick truck or car I would recommend this canoe to others due the ease of use and the quality of the product October 1, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by dunnms5 Poor quality, Poor service I bought a Pelican canoe a couple years ago to use with my family on the lakes and rivers near our home in Virginia. We have used the canoe about 4 times per year for the last 2 or 3 years. We have used it less than we intended because it is so difficult to load it on to our Suburban because of its weight and because it rides so heavy in the water. About a month ago I was out on the Potomac river with my son fishing and after stopping on a small island for lunch we got back into the canoe. As I sat down on the rear seat the seam of plastic that holds the seat in gave way. I fell and banged my head and back pretty good. After recovering on the river bank for 20 minutes we headed back to our truck to go home. I examined the remnants of the seat and found that the way it is held onto the side of the canoe is very poorly designed. There is a very thin seam of plastic that holds the seat itself to a plastic piece to the side of the canoe. The seam is literally a millimeter thick. I contacted Pelican support via email to ask for a replacement for the seat because I figured a reputable company would want to make this kind of thing right. Apparently, Pelican is not that kind of company. First, it took days for a representative from customer service to email me back after my first inquiry. After every answer I gave to their questions (which were usually within about 8 hours) it would take several more days to get a response from them. At the end of the email thread Customer Service informed my that the parts to replace the seat (3 of them) would cost about $100, plus shipping. No 'sorry', no offer to send the parts if I pay for shipping, nothing but Tough Luck. In my opinion, if you are going to spend hundreds of dollars on a canoe it should last for many years. I would strongly suggest that this is not the canoe and Pelican is not a company you can trust. August 13, 2013
