Pelican Flow 106 Stand-Up Paddle Board 5 5 2 2
Pelican Flow 106 SUP Board Great product! Bought for my wife and we took it to the ICW and it did great! Wife was able to balance and standing up in minutes and we paddled for over 3 hours and she loved it. She is very petite and I am 6'3" 270 and I was able to paddle it and ride it with no problems. (previous model) 3 years running strong this was my very first sup experience ever, so it was daunting picking a board especially since I was paying for it on a Highschooler's salary. Let me tell you that I learned 100% on my own with only very mild and limited surf experience and skateboarding experience. This thing is stable, yet not too wide or thick where it messes up your stroke. The flat platform was hard to find in other boards at this price range, but it really is nice to be able to walk the board or spread out fishing gear on it without foot grooves. The grip looks like about the only thing they've changed from my model to this one Pros *Very versatile in uses, could even be used for surf although I inland mine *DURABILITY IS INSANE a must for backwater or rougher water *good catch on wake and for down winding (so presumably waves too) *good maneuverability and not very tippy yet not overly sluggish like some beginners boards. *some boards have issues with too much direct sun and temperatures. Again this thing will take a beating. I have had no issues with environment Cons *The tracking has to be the only downside with its single fin. not a big deal you will only notice it if your going against heavy winds (most people choose to stay home those days) *the bungee secure in a weird way and the clips can pop off. Just tie them easy as that, might even be fixed on this model. The only way I would not suggest this sup is for pro racing or competitive long distance. But then at that point your probably not looking at any board under $900 anyway. I have tried other boards and I am still sticking with this one. February 1, 2015
