Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Value - Intro level? This is my first purchase for boxing equipment so I have nothing to compare this purchase to from a boxing perspective. Assembly of the equipment wasn't too difficult, but I highly recommend using a couple of socket wrenches instead of the tools that come in the box. The installation will go much faster and easier. Also, definitely pick up some bags of sand or additional weights to anchor the structure better before using it. I haven't installed the speed bag yet but after reading other comments, I'm already preparing to have to replace it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is a 'getting started' video would have been a great addition to this product. The store didn't appear to have any and there wasn't any instruction included (like intro to boxing or heavy-bag workout basics); however there are some good videos on YouTube by more skilled trainers and enthusiasts. Good luck! April 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Buy. It works great and you can't beat it for the value and what you get for the price. November 11, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Terrible combo set If you box, the only thing about this set that is holding up so far is the heavy bag. The speed bag completely tore with only two days of use. The adjuster knob holding the speed bag where I wanted it broke while I was hitting the speed bag. Terrible product. April 4, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by not bad Not bad. Its a good combination set. the heavy bag is really nice and works well but if you don't have weights to put on the stand then you will want to corner it or the bag/stand will slide around and/or tip. I was disappointed with the speedbag and SB platform and swivel. I had to update the whole speed bag set and make a new platform along with getting a new speedbag and swivel which was about $40-$50 all together and it works great now, but the speed bag set this stand comes with is very low quality (platform, swivel, and bag) the bag tore after my second day using it and the platform wasn't built for giving a good bounce so it lacked speed for the bag. After redoing the speedbag set it really made this entire set worth-while and great workout combinations. Good price despite of the original speedbag set that comes with this but you pay for what u get. It was easy to redo the speed bag and still didn't cost much. So if your wanting to buy this, I say do it with the exception of a couple extra dollars to update the speed bag set. January 23, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Everlast PowerCore 2 Station Stand and Bag Kit Heavy bag very good and enables a great workout. Speed bag is low quality, and will not last too long, but the price was reasonable. It will start to tear at the seams after a few days of using it. The swivel, which connects to the speed bag, is also of low quality. A good one is available for $20. The frame requires added weight to the base, which is explained in the instructions. Pretty easy to assemble. Good space saver in general. November 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good setup, sales people need to know more I really like this setup, good bag, and a speedball. But when I got it I'd never had one before, and noone said I would need over a hundred pounds of plates to weigh it down while I work out. Also have to buy apump ffor the speedball. Easy to set up though anda great price. November 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good stuff Awesome product. Just add weight plates or sand bags, to help with sturdiness and your good to go. November 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great deal I think this was a reasonable price for what you get. 199.99... I use it a few hours a day everyday, and I have had it for almost 2 weeks. It developed a slight tear neat the bottom of the bag, and the insides have already begun moving downward, but it is to be expected. I am a heavy user of the item, and we will see how the bag holds up (ill update the review when I get to about 3 months) If you are interested in this product, it is worth buying. If you are new to fighting, there isn't a workout like it. Everything will strengthen if you use it right, even your hands. Ever see those guys with old man strength that seem to be able to twist open beer bottles even if they aren't twist offs? well this is the most entertaining way to reach that noble goal. (the associate that helped me was incredibly polite and honest) March 4, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Solid product This is a solid set of equipment for the beginner/novice. I was just looking for another way to work up a sweat and this does the job. November 24, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by OK for the money I purchased this after reading multiple reviews and knew what I was getting into. My take is the rack is solid, easy to assemble, and the heavy bag is great for the money. The downside is the components are cheap. I have upgraded the chain holding the heavy bag and the speed bag is useless. At first, I could not work the speed bag at all, but I was hitting it from the side. Then I figure out that if you stand directly in front of the speed bag and hit it in the direction of the heavy bag, you can get it going good, until it pops. After a total of one minute of hitting that bag in a good rhythm, it popped on me. No big deal since I planned on upgrading the bag and the swivel, which is a plastic piece of garbage. Note that Dicks does not carry upgradeable swivels or bags and they don't even sell the replacement bladders in their store, at least in Waterford, CT. They are willing to sell you a new bag with bladder, but the cost is ridiculous considering its garbage. I have ordered a new, upgraded speed bag and swivel from Ringside.com and hope the back board holds up, but I intend to replace that with something more solid in due time knowing it too will break. In short, I could have spent an extra $100 to get a higher quality set, but its a wash in the end. As always, you get what you pay for. Also, for those who say the set moves around when hitting it, you need to have adequate weight to stop that. If you don't have 45lb Olympic weights to stabilize the set, don't waste your time. At least for an adult. January 19, 2015
