Rated 4 out of 5áby Tips on assembling the F63 >Since I just purchased this treadmill, I am going to focus on tips to make the assembly process easier. These observations are based upon my own experience. I would have rated this product 5 stars, but the assembly manual is miserable and thus gets demoted by one star. >If your treadmill is going to be in the basement or second floor, take the components out of the box and carry them separately into the exercise room. Make sure to leave the black strap on the treadmill. >Ensure that you have a adequate amount of space around the treadmill, before you start the assembly. Also, I would suggest having a magnetic Phillips screw driver and a flash light available to make portions of the assembly easier. >There are a number of wiring connections during the assembly process. Make sure to carefully examine the connectors because there is only one way to mate them. This is where a flash light comes in handy. You should hear a click when the connections mate properly. >Step 2 in the assembly instructions says to install the lower handle bar covers. I scratched my head trying to figure out how to do this. Then I realized that each handle bar cover has two pieces. Just separate them and install the lower portion. >Steps 4 and 5. I would reverse the order. Step 4 says to connect the console wiring and step 5 says to bolt the console to the uprights. I would bolt the console to the uprights first. If the console slips when you are bolting it down, and the wiring is already installed, you risk having the wires damaged or broken. I was able to bolt the console down first, and then do the wiring, with no issues. THE BOLTS COME IN FROM UNDERNEATH THE CONSOLE. As the manual recommends, I would get a second pair of hands to assist with this portion of the installation. >Before doing step 6, attaching the upper and lower handle bar covers, I would turn on the treadmill and make sure the electronics work on the console and handle bars. If they don't, you still have access to check your wiring connections. >Step 6. Use a magnetic screw driver to put in the screws. It will make the task much easier. >Hope my suggestions help make the assembly process a little easier. December 6, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5áby Overall a nice piece of equipment but... I got this treadmill for Christmas....the product catalogue was wrapped under the tree...it was delivered around New Years, perfect timing. It is a solid piece of equipment, very stable and while running, there is no pounding noise from your feet striking the deck. No rattling, the shock is absorbed well. The fan is quiet. I love all the incline and speed options as well as the display of your miles, calories etc. Sometimes I walk at an incline, other times I run at a faster pace, I like to mix it up....so this is what I am getting at. The treadmill gets 45 minutes a day maybe 4 or 5 days a week. I lubed the deck and the belt as directed (difficult to slide your hand between the belt and deck while squeezing a slippery tube of lube, nevertheless less got the job done). About 6-8 weeks of use later, the front roller began to squeak mercilessly. It was very torturous. I checked for dust or debris underneath even though I vacuum frequently. Still, it squeaked. They sent out a wonderful tech to the house and he replaced that roller free of charge. Great for another 3 months, until the exact same squeaking started to happen again. It frankly makes the experience very unpleasant. I don't know if this is to be expected, but it is frustrating. I wish there was a way for me to open the front end up and lube directly on the roller itself, because it doesn't sound like the squeak is from the belt making contact. It is the roller itself. The bummer? You can only purchase a special kind of lube from Dicks or the internet. September 15, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5áby Worst I have never left a response before...on anything. But to have a treadmill cause so much stress, when a treadmill is supposed to relieve stress is slightly ridiculous. I have had two treadmills in 18 years, each literally lasting about 9 years. They were not Sole. Our first Sole treadmill we were looking to spend less than $1200 ( maybe our biggest mistake) We used the Dicks assembly company. Needed Sole technician sent out to repair incline squeak and squeaking with every step after 4.5. He came out twice. After 2 months, and after conversations and unanswered voicemails to Sole, sent them request to exchange treadmill. I had to ask for a special request to not be responsible to disassemble treadmill, and not be charged for not having box. Second treadmill: After assembly, motor did not work. Technician was sent out, replaces motor (on a new treadmill). And also fixes squeaking sound that apparently comes with every treadmill. One month without the squeak and now it's back, as is the slow start on motor. Waiting for return confirmation, and waiting to see if I have to disassemble treadmill myself. There was no noise when I tested this treadmill at Dicks. June 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby 2 years with no problems My wife and I have used this treadmill for almost 2 years and we have no problems. Noise was an issue with other treadmills, but this is quiet and movement of the belt is smooth as the speed changes. You can control the speed and incline from the handrails or the console panel. I oil the deck under the belt occasionally and there is no slippage of the belt. A really great treadmill for the money. I gave the delivery guys 50.00 and they set it up in about an hour. It may have taken me a day so it was worth the money. September 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Running hard. I bought this treadmill and have to admit I was being a little cheap. I was looking at the f80 and the f63 and decided to save some money and go with the f63. That being said I have been running hard for long distances on this one and it is doing very well. We will see what a year brings but right now I like it, and it taking my beating well. Rated 4 out of 5áby Lasted Five Years. Bought this model in 2008. Solid performer over the years. Made it through three moves. Regularly used. I believe I have almost 900 miles on it to date. I'm most comfortable using it at like a 4 percent incline and 6.0 mph speed--not a full out run on the commercial gym treadmills or outside. Unfortunately, my computer board seems to going south on me. The Stop button was not working for a period of time but I was still able to use it. That issue fixed itself but I now have a problem with the Start button and there is no getting around that. One shot with the technician and weighing the cost before I go shopping again. Aside from gonig to the gym..this thing is my diet control!! P.S. Good company customer service. October 18, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5áby Disappointing Birthday present After much research and reading reviews on this product ended up buying for my wifes birthday. Plenty of features for the price it seemed like a good choice. Unfortunately when we got it home and assembled, powered it up and got the always exciting........FS1 Error message on the display. After doing everything I could to trouble shoot the problem I went back online only to discover that my experience was not that uncommon. Called the 1-800 number only to be told that they would be shipping me (by regular mail) parts and a service tech would be calling to schedule the repair....."expect 2-3 weeks". So here I am with my brand new treadmill having to wait for them to repair a faulty product and I couldn't even convince the guy at their support center to fedex the parts so my wife could enjoy her new gift. DISSAPPOINTING. March 26, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5áby Unresolved squeaks I've owned the F63 since Jan.,2014, and it had a loud squeak on belt right out of of box. It's loud enough to cause me to have to play TV at a loud volume. Technician has been out to replace various parts four different times and it stops squeaks for about two weeks each time, then it starts squeaking again. My previous treadmill was a comparably priced NordicTrack that worked fine for many years. I walk only with 0 incline and about one hour a day. I weigh 150 #. Positives: Repair service(Spiritfitness) has been very responsive to try to resolve issue; treadmill has been usable throughout. I'm hoping to get a replacement. Other than squeak, it's been great. Maybe isolated lemon? Repairman not knowledgeable about repair? I've never written a product review before. August 29, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5áby DO NOT BUY!! Bought during black Friday sale end of 2013. From get go, have been on the phone with warranty support 4 times now because of this excruciating noise coming from the front left end of the unit. Technician has been here 3 times and each time says " I know what that is". Seems to be fine right after part replacement and lubing but then once I use it of course after he is gone the noise comes right back. Blasting the TV does not even help. I would have bought a $300 treadmill if I would have known this. Have to say the folks on the sole warranty support line are very nice though and handled everything. Just filled out a return authorization form which goes to corporate sole. I better be getting my $$ back. May 8, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5áby Didn't work straight out of the box. The treadmill was fairly simple to assemble, and only took about 30 minutes. We were excited to start using it, but as soon as we turned the machine on we received an error message. We went though all the trouble shooting tips, and still an error message-the motor would not even start up. We called Sole and were told they'd send some parts and a technician would be by to install them soon after they arrived. The parts came within a few days, but here it is a week and a half later and still no technician. We have called Sole back twice and each time they switch the technician company but so far we haven't even received a call from a technician. I've read other reviews online, and this seems to be a common problem. It's absolutely horrible to spend close to a thousand dollars on a machine and it not work at all!! What good is a one year service warranty, when the service never comes. I will never waste money on another Sole product again....If they do so happen to finally come and fix my machine, I will write another review based on the performance. However, this review is intended to be a warning to others, hopefully it'll save you the time and frustration we have had to endure. January 6, 2014
