Rated 5 out of 5 by Skeet Reese Great for the beginner!!! Easy to set up!!! Smoothie casting!!! September 25, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Lover the rod hate the whreel reel I found that the rod it self is fantastic; it has a good fell in your hand and the right sensitivity when working lures. I would give the rod IT SELF four stars. Now the reel, it's now for me. I like to use a variety of different lures both in size and weight. The reel will bird nest up is you use lures that are to light; which is most of the lures that I have. What I found out is that you wound need a lures that are no less than a 1/2 oz. in weight or the line will get tanged on you. I've used this product quite a few time since I bought it; I even looked up how to use baitcasters online and tried to practice it as much as I could but I still could not get the reel to work the way that I wanted it to. I'm not saying that it is a bad product, it's just not worth the trouble for what you get. What I would recommend is that you just stick to an open face reel. It does just as well without the hassle. Rated 2 out of 5 by Reel is trash Every time I cast I get a backlash. If you buy this rod you spend more time on getting backlashes out than actually fishing. I don't recommend this rod for anybody. August 25, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Liked the rod, reel was returned for cutting the line. I purchased a bad reel, Dicks manager gave me credit for the reel. I put a lews reel on the rod for a great combo. Nice upgrade. Happy that Dick sporting goods made a defective purchase right and backed there products. August 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worm Rig This is a great worm rig. This combination is a good deal for the money . June 7, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a good experience Bought this a day before going out bassin'. Had a hard time adjusting the reel to cast different weight lures; resulting in many 'professional unspoolings.' Once I adjusted to one lure, it actually casted not bad. Where the 'reel' bad comes in is the seat. I set the hook on a bass and the plastic seat cracked and the reel came off the rod. I returned the combo the next morning. June 6, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Returned my purchase Bought skeet Reese bait casting combo. Also spent another $9.99 on strength florocarbon line to spool it with. Reel is junk ! Backlash adjustment didn't phase it. Rod was good though. Replaced it with a pro qailifier reel from bass pro. No problems. Problem wasn't me. . May 31, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by This product has simple features It's a good combo but when I received mine through ups it was scratched up.. Do I still use it?? The answer is yes. I'm about to step up my game and get me a duckett rod.. But for you beginners out there it's a good beginners rod! May 4, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Decent rod with a horrible reel! I should have read the reviews before i purchased this combo. My first mistake was buying a combo in the first place but I was feeling lazy and didn't want to wait for shipping. The rod has a nice fast action to it. But the micro guides I dont think work too well with braided line. I could not cast far at all with this reel. After hours and hours of tuning the reel for the weight of the lure i was using i gave up. bird nest after bird nest. Instead i bought me a Shimano Casitas Casting Reel 150HG with a Duckett Ghost XL Series Casting Rod 7'3" Med Hvy and am willing to wait for tackle warehouse to approve my order. Didnt work too well for me. Best of luck to ya and keep those lines tight. May 3, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Breaks easily Started out well, lasted a year and then the gears started grinding then broke. Can be fixed but dont know how to do it in this reel. Its good for beginners but dont buy it if you have been fishing for more than a year or 2. May 1, 2016
