Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 43 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Product for the price. Very solid This is a great product and very solid piece of equipment. I had a cheap standard weight bench that felt as if it was going to fold in half when doing 4-6 sets of 10 reps at approx. 135 lbs, being as my old bench was flimsy and unsafe with 135 lbs, I never did 1rm on it, so essentially the cheap weight bench I had was holding me back. I decided on this bench due to price and stability. This is a great bench for bench pressing. It can be assembled in about 30 minutes with only one person. I bought an Olympic weight set with this also. I was a little skeptical how solid the actual bench that you lay on would support as it has a quick release bracket on only one side. I loaded the bar up with a total weight of 170 lbs and this bench didn't even wobble. Rock solid. Things I noticed with my bench and reason I gave it only 4 stars: check bolts on the preassembled already tightened from the factory screws, one was loose, but I didn't count this in the reasoning behind the 4 star rating. 1. if you have the seat in the full upright position, you cannot perform a military press as there is no way that one will be able to reach behind them to get the bar from behind them. Works great if using dumb bells though. If the whole seat was on a track that could slide back into a correct position to perform this I would have given 5 stars. However the bench performs great using it as incline/decline or flat bench, just not too much of an incline over 45 degrees. Things that are not on this machine: a leg developer (which incidentally I never used on my old bench# but you can do squats on this #I haven't used it for this yet#, a preacher curl pad #which also isn't necessary). Other than the seat that could be on a sliding track to be able to do a proper military press, the only thing that could have made this bench better would have been a built in weight tree to store weights you aren't using. Rated 5 out of 5 by Good bench Very well priced and good solid product. Easy to put together by yourself September 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Get it! I absolutely love the bench/rack so far. Only have had it for about a week+. However, purchasing it has allowed me to move the complexes I'm doing along at a much quicker pace. It has cut time in the gym in half because of the safety catches. September 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Can do both bench and squats So I wanted a setup where I could do both bench press and squats. With this, you can place the hooks on either side allowing for most almost any powerlifting exercises you could want. It wasn't too difficult to put together. I am not particularly skilled and I think I had it in about 2 hours. The store employees were also very helpful in bringing this out to my vehicle. September 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fitness Gear Pro Olympic Bench So far so good. It took me about an hour to assemble. I like the workout combinations this bench provides, incline, decline, flat bench and the squat option is a plus. I wanted something I can get multiple uses and I believe I found it. I stop going to the gym.I wanted something that could handle exactly what I would do 3 to 4 days a week. I need to get use to the small space between two bench pieces but overall, I recommend this. Rated 5 out of 5 by This is all the weight bench you will ever need I bought this for my two teenage boys, both of whom are avid high school football players. This is a very sturdy machine (don't go cheap and get the smaller version Dick's sells, because it does not have good bar locks). Our family will never have to buy another bench, and this one is the very best!! September 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by 48.5" uprights Easy assembly and looks to be a solid bench. I had to assemble it to figure out the distance between uprights so for anyone else who is trying to find bar measurements my uprights measure in at 48.5". If you need < 7' bar check closely as most of them are only 48" between collars. Troy Barbell makes a 6ft with 51". August 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fitness Gear Pro Olympic Bench will make You a Pro! This bench is my 3rd and will be my last! That's a GOOD thing! High quality at a great price. I put it together by myself(it recommends 2 people) in a hour. I used the picture of the bench along with directions and was good to go. Give yourself plenty of space and put it together near the spot you will use it because it is a handful to move by yourself. If you use it in the garage you will have that "new car" smell for a few weeks. If you buy it you will know what I mean. Easy to adjust the incline and decline of the bench itself and the height of the barbell holders. Great overall. It looks just like the picture too. August 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great quality for price I have owned 3 or 4 different weight benches over the years and this specific model doesn't have as many of the options (like preacher curl, leg curl functions available on some other models - which are usually flimsy and wobbly anyway) but the quality of this weight bench and what it offers far exceeds many of those other weight benches. Many times the more options that are offered is balanced out by reduction in quality and structural integrity. This weight bench keeps it pretty simple. Pretty easy to put together. With a few tools from the toolbox it is up and ready in about 20 minutes. The back rest has several incline and recline positions at the pull of a knob and a push or pull on the back rest and it is quite sturdy with little to no wobble. Bench press side: has extended bar catches as a safety catch that can be placed below the smaller starting lift bar catches so in cases where you go for one last press and can't get it all the way up and it slowly comes back down on top of you as you try with all your might the extended bar catches will help prevent you from being crushed. Just make sure they are placed at a level that you can squirm out of if the bar comes to rest on them. Leg squats side: The smaller bar catches can also be placed on the back side of the vertical support bars and can be placed higher and used to hold the bar for a height needed to begin and end leg squats (a much better leg exercise than the cheap leg curl gimmick mechanism on lots of other weight benches). Overall: Steel construction and fasteners feel solid. back rest adjustments are abundant. Stability appears excellent. Design in simple and strong. Picked up the Fitness Gear 300lbs olympic weight set (Bar and weight plates) from Dicks for great price too. Feels like all cast iron plates which appear to be joined by a single weld. I liked the Fitness Gear set much better than the flimsier feeling plastic coated plates that they were selling over at sports authority with their olympic weight set which came with plates that had what looked like 3 different weld points and were labeled as an "eco" brand and were $25 more on sale. I never willingly buy anything eco if I want quality and something that is built to last and work great. This is not labeled as "eco". This is a great weight bench August 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by easy to put together and very sturdy This is an excellent easy to put together, sturdy piece of equipment. But also the team at Dicks who helped me make up my mind and then went out of their way to help me load my car were outstanding. They made the whole experience great. August 5, 2014
