Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by amazing value I got the 6'9" for use in catfishing from a boat. Power category is Medium, but this rod is very close to Medium-Heavy. So far the biggest cats it's seen is a few 10 pounders, and they were loading the rod properly only in the first couple of mins. I think this rod will have it's most beautiful action with a 20 lb fish. Talking about action - this is NOT a fast action rod like the striper ugly sticks or the catfish ugly sticks. What that means is that the bend comes in the middle of the rod, and not in the tip of the rod like all white-colored ugly sticks. This is the more beautiful action, but it not as good in detecting small bites. All in all perfect for my use. July 11, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My Favorite Catfishing Rods I own and use all three models for catfishing, surf, and saltwater boat fishing and appreciate how light and comfortable they are as compared to the standard Tiger rods. I use the Medium version for tossing 1-2oz spoons in the surf. The Heavy version performs well for tossing 2-4oz weight & bait for blue cats. The 6'6" Medium-Heavy version is a respectable jack-of-all-trades rod. It has an action closer to the M version than the H, which doesn?t make it as great for catfishing with large circle hooks in rod holders, as it?s proved to be not as effective at self-setting as the Heavy version. It's shorter length is also a negative in my book. It?s redeeming quality is its versatility. While not the best in any one area, it does have the advantage of being able to pull double duty as a trolling rod. It?s got an excellent action with the just right amount of power for it to be used effectively to troll large saltwater swimbaits, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. March 30, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Rod I have 4 Ugly Stik's and love this rod. Have caught 50" Bull Red Fish that have had this rod bent done to the handle but it keeps on fighting. Great feel and better strength. January 11, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by get the warranty got this rod and paired it with a pfluger president caught a dozen or so nice snook and the rod broke in half while casting out my 5/8 oz lure, never made any cracking noise or anything, did not get the extended warranty and probably won't get it replaced at dicks, so i'm gonna be out the 59.99 I paid for the rod and will have to buy a new one, it will not be an ugly stick next time learned my lesson you get what you pay for great beginner rod but not for the average or better angler... Rated 5 out of 5 by Shakespeare Ugly Stick, 7' I have fished with this product for years and it is the best I've found for the money. I use it with an Okuma Coldwater reel with line counter for Stripers. September 8, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great rod for the price The rod is sensitive and responsive. It is strong enough to land large fish. December 16, 2014
