Good product so far Good product so far but only used it 3 times since I just got it. Windows are nice and provide a good view of your surroundings. Definitely not for two people like it is advertised though. November 4, 2014
staying dry This blind is great on a dry day. On a rainy day not so great.I would say spray it down good with camp spray. Not sure why this blind is not waterproof in the first place.Good luck October 20, 2014
2nd Review Great Ground Blind I field tested this blind for the first day of the Pa Archery Season .I set this up at my spot the night before after weather report was calling for heavy rain the night before till mid day the next day .When I opened my blind after a night of heavy rain the ground was dry .I also noticed the pinholes from the sewing of this blind as another reviewer pointed.out ....that being said I got only very ,very minimal drops even during the heavy rain while I was in the blind .My plan is to put blind up in a nice day at home and using rubber cement or liquid electrical tap to dab the whole shut . No Big Deal !!! im not sure id want to use a compound bow being it is not high enough to stand up in unless you are on the shorter side ..My Recommendation is Buy This Blind I really wish I would have purchased it sooner !!! Check out the PostedBoyz Video on youtube to see how ez setup & Teardown is October 5, 2014
Does the job Good light blind, easy to pack up and carry. Took me about 10 solid practice tries to be able to consistently pack it up after being set-up. Make sure you can do it before venturing out in the dark. The blind is well made, but mine has randoms mall holes (tiny) all over ti which I guess is from the leaf camo. The shoot through mesh looks great but I have my doubts about it working effectively but then again I've never tried it. Camo is great. At 5'6 I can't fully stand up straight, a huge bummer while bowhunting. The blind is well-sized but because of the shape it's best for a single hunter. September 11, 2014
Very nice ground blind. I purchased this ground blind to use during the rifle deer season in Pa. The weather seems to change a lot during those two weeks from snow, to rain and wind. I wanted to be protected, but still continue hunting. I plan to use this so that myself and my nephew can both hunt from it. I'm very surprised at how big it is! I read the measurements, but until you actually get one and open it up, you don't realize how nice that it is. Ameristep claims that 2 - 4 people can fit in it. That's true, if they don't plan on hunting, because there is NOT enough room for 4 people. 2 people? yes, especially an adult and a young hunter. I'm 6', 285LBS. and I could fit inside with plenty of room. I love the large entrance door V's some of the other blinds on the market. NOTE: if you buy this, go on youtube and watch the set up, and take down of the ameristep doghouse blind by "Postedboyz." The reason being, the directions from ameristep are stick figure drawings. The guy on the video shows step-by-step direction. Very easy after watching him. I feel that the blind is well worth the price. Oh, and the pouch that you keep it in has two starps to carry it into the woods like a backpack. September 6, 2014
Very Functional Photo Blind I purchased this Doghouse Blind for use in backyard bird photography. The first time I set it up, about 18 feet from my "bird stage" area, a female goldfinch flew down to one of my "perch" branches while I was in the blind testing the camera set-up, and I got some good shots. So, it works! I am satisfied with the design, quality of construction, the ease of set up and take down, and the packable size. Dick's price was the lowest by about $20, and delivery was faster than expected. I am very pleased with this purchase, and would recommend this blind to other wildlife photographers. I bought the RealTree Xtra Green camo, which I think is a good choice in the midwest from spring through fall. There is plenty of room for a single person to work within the blind, but it would be a tight, but workable, squeeze for two. For regular use by more than one person, I would recommend the Brickhouse Blind. September 2, 2014
Tom -New Jersey Great blind! Set up for Winter Bow, used a buddy heater, kept it 60 degrees inside. Took 2 deer from it then someone stole it! July 8, 2014
Watch for mfg. or fabric defects This is the second one I have purchased over the last 4 years. Upon setting it up I noticed many pin holes in the roof of the blind as if the sewing machine left or the fabric was flawed. It would not bother me but the sun on it all the time the fabric will tend to rot out at those spots sooner. My old unit rotted out over time and I suspect this will go faster. Clear gorilla tape inside will slow down the deterioration over time, I hope July 8, 2014
Good blind Opened it up and was larger then what I expected. Plenty of room for 1 dude or a dude and his little dude. 2 dudes might be pushing it. It comes with poles but didn't use them, it can stand with no trouble. I think the poles are fiberglass, my fingers feel like they have splinters in them but can not see anything. I suspect that was from handling the poles. Over all I feel it was a good buy but now my fingers hurt so June 4, 2014
good blind I set up the blind and was in it one of the polls broke it still works but they should have stronger polls hope they will send me a another pole May 19, 2014
