Wilson 11.75" A800 Optima Series Glove 4.5 5 29 29
Great glove, Wilson has the right glove formula and Dick's improved on it. I grew up playing little league and neighborhood ball; and still have great memories of playing catch with my dad when he got home from work. I don't even remember what brand of glove I had, probably a Rawlings. Well that glove is long gone and I have children of my own, two daughters. Now I want to play catch with them so I did some research and settled on the A800 after going to Dick's intending to purchase a Rawlings on sale. The glove offered everything I wanted, all position size (11.75), web configuration I wanted (single post only available at Dick's in this size), Optima is Dick's exclusive. I called Wilson to ask what the Optima was because non-Dick's A800s say "SoftFit" not "Optima". Worked nice right off the rack, not to soft, great pocket, watched the "Aso" (Wilson's glove guru) video from Wilson on breaking in and decided to open up and form by hand and playing catch, no water, no steam. Used some "Glovolium" to help with break in. Very happy with the choice, if money was unlimited probably would have gone with the Pro Soft Yak, or Mizuno MVP prime GMVP. March 11, 2015
Wilson A800 Nice glove if you cannot afford a pro series glove. Big enough pocket for outfielders but small enough to make good plays in the infield and make good transitions. I like how easy it was to break in. Very nice leather. March 7, 2015
Feels broken in right off of the rack. Great glove. I am very pleased with how the glove feels and how little work it took to get it game ready. March 5, 2015
Ready to play glove. The soft leather was perfect for our little leaguer on day one. February 17, 2015
What it says it is Is exactly whst dedcription says it is. Great glove for the money. Its no A2000 but its a fraction of the price February 4, 2015
Solid product Wilson gloves have always been and continue to be my glove of choice. Wonderful durabilty Made to use made to last. January 13, 2015
Nice glove Glove ready to play. No break in required. However glove had a price tag of $79 and I paid $89. What's up with that? September 21, 2014
Best youth/teen glove out there minus the price Need a good glove with minimal break-in time, this is it. Best $60 I ever spent, only thing that needs to be done after purchasing is tightening up the lacing (lacing is cheap) and will break after a while. After a year of play we replaced the lacing and glove is still doing great. August 20, 2014
We'll placed location of gloves and easy to look at selection. I had the glove treated at the store and they did an awesome job. August 19, 2014
Good glove for my 12U ball player If you're looking for a good quality glove, which will last a few years and is reasonably priced; this is it. I considered buying my son an A2000 or A1K as he is getting ready to move up to 13U baseball (although he just turned 12), but I know he'll want a new glove when he starts playing high school ball, so I figured I'd hold off till then. I choose this glove because my son prefers Wilson wrist guard material to Rawlings (fur), and it is "Game Ready" which makes for a shorter break-in period and an easier transition from his already broken-in glove. It's a good quality glove, but the soft "Game Ready" style is less ridged, so I'm not sure how it will hold up year after year for a serious ball player. I only need it to last a few years of moderate play, and I'm confident it will. Only other negative is the palm protection could be a little better. I think it's a good glove for the 10-14 year old age group. I wouldn't recommend of high school play. August 14, 2014
